A few days ago, I was doing some routine file cleanup on my NX60 and now hotsync is not working. It will start and then I get the "hotsync has been interrupted" message and that's the end. Strangely enough, pinstall still works as does SyncWizard. I thought that I couldn't delete ROM files from the Clie, and hopefully I haven't. I've tried hard and soft resets, reinstalling Palm Desktop 4.1, and nothing seems to work. Help would be most appreciated.

No, you can't delete any ROM files.
The five most common issues are for loss of HotSync:
Over-clocking
Corrupted desktop PC USB driver.
Damaged USB port on the Clie or cradle.
Clash with or missing a file on the Clie.
Recently added hardware such as an external drive or printer with card reading capability.
Did you happen to look at the HotSync logs on both the Clie and the desktop PC? Sounds like your missing a file for one of your apps in the Clie!.
Everything points to that!
Did you try disabling the conduits in the desktop PC's HotSync Manager? Disable them all or as many as possible and see what happens. The HotSync logs SHOULD give you a clue as to which app is in need of repairing. Usually an anomaly is ignored, but it appears to be an exception. Either that, some file is badly corrupted.

Thanks for the comeback.
1. I'm not using any overclocking util
2. Every other USB device is working without a problem and nothing shows as unknown or not installed properly within my Device Manager info
3. I get the same results with my hotsync cable and my cradle - though both will allow installs with pinstall and file maninpulation with SyncWizard
4. How would I determine a clash or missing file on the Clie?
5. I haven't added any new hardware to my system in quite sometime.
6. Hotsync log - on both ends tells me:
HotSync operation started 08/24/03 07:35:35
HotSync operation complete 08/24/03 07:35:35
I disabled ALL conduits on the desktop and nothing changed. Hotsync operation starts and ends as soon as it identifies the user. I've tried creating a new user - same result.
Any suggestions on how to narrow down the missing or corrupt file would be most appreciated.

Question: Did it HotSync right after you did a hard reset? Only you know what files you had removed from the Clie.
Pinstall is exactly that, an install tool. I have no clue why you would use Sync Wizard unless you had a Palm PDA too. I would lean more towards that avenue. Sorry, there is no easy way, I know you can disable Pinstall, I know nothing about SyncWizard other than my understanding that it was NOT for a Clie.
