Hi everyone,

I have 2 "beginner" questions. I tried to locate answers in the archives, but I could not. I have a 1 year old NX70V. I haven't uploaded any OS patches since I purchased it.

1. How do I copy a bunch of MP3 files from my computer to a Sony MS to listen on my Clie? I remember doing it before and it was very simple, but I cannot remember now :( I believe, there was a special program by Sony that allowed to do that quickly.

2. I just purchased a Sony 256 mb MS. Can you please provide me with a link where I can download proper patch to be able to use the entire 256mb of memory on my Clie?

Thanks a lot in advance!

1. Copy your mp3 files to this subdirectory on the memory stick
\Palm\Programs\msaudio
Or run Data Export on your PC then drag your mp3 to the "Clie Card Drive" tab.

2. You will find all the released NX70 patches at this URL.
http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/clie/nx70v/
Click on Drivers & Updates
Download then Install the patch for MS Pro compatibility.

Thanks.

I copied some "books on audio" files from a CD to the specified directory on MS. They are all in MP3 format and I was able to listen to them on CD on my computer.
They do show up in my Clie's MP3 player, but when I hit "play" I get this error message:
"This track is unavailable for one of the following reasons:
The Memory Stick media is write-protected or does not support copyright control, or the track file is corrupted"

I checked the MS and it is not write-protected. Also, how can it be copyright protected if I was able to listen to these MP3 tracks from the CD (that is not original) and copy them to MS ?

Please help.

Thanks a lot!

Make sure the bit rate is 128Kbps @ 44Khz.

You may get the same error if the MP3's were recorded using VBR(variable bit rate) format, which the NX does not support. The bit rate should be 96kbps or higher, can be lower if you have the SystemUpdatePack installed. The sampling rate, as UZI says has to remain at 44.1 KHz.
