Hard reset?! :)
Some databases can be moved into MS and the application run from RAM and read MS.
The other thing is to clean up the RAM and removed old orphaned files.
Lastly, get rid of programs which you haven't used in a while.

Get powerrun and move some of your program to MS. I have the same problems and all I have was Splash ID (Sony updates taking precious memory).

ZLauncher is $3$ US Bucks cheaper than PowerRun and has a lot more goodies.

I tried to tell everyone to get the NX80 for the additional memory!

$3.00 ???
Thought it was $12.00
Are they discounting ZLauncher somewhere that I don't know about?

Delete the Clie Demo, the sample pic; use ZLauncher or PowerRun to transfer the games and applications to the MS.
I keep all my games, not so often use applications and books on the MS.
I have Zlauncher, PalmReader Pro, Agendus Pro, MSDict (the database is in the MS), Ultrasoft Money and iSilo on my NX73 and still have 7.5mb of memory free.

I just did one, not quite on purpose, and freed up 2megs, I had no idea so much garbage could stay behind after you delete a program...

I just wanted to add, if you use your Memory Stick for all your apps, you can keep almost all of your RAM free. I have an NX60, with 11MB total RAM, and right now I have 8.1MB free. That's with about 110 applications installed. The only things I have in RAM are ZLauncher, and the databases for my PIM apps. There are also some small files that apps use for settings. But that's pretty much it. I have ZLauncher loading almost everything off the card, including databases that go with apps. But I am also using JackFlash (which isn't yet possible on your Clie) to store apps that don't run off the card (like utilities such as Okey and CodeDiver).

I have TONS of files by a user "a68k". They are obviously connected somehow with all the files that I have put on my MS with Zlauncher. I know they are small, BUT there are an awful lot of them!

What are these "a68k" files?

They are created for every application that gets run. Please see the link below for more info, Thanks!

I basically have the same on my NX70 and 11.1MB free on my NX80 with at least as many apps.

For the noobs! Cameron (cbulock) always gives good advice!!!

To Jeff:

Sorry, I thought it was clear that ZLauncher was $3.00 USD (dollars) cheaper than PowerRun.

Yes, ZL works very well, get the latest v3.60b2.2. It totally replaced PowerRun and some other apps.

Unless BigClock is running when you turn off your Clie, the alarm will not go off if it's in MS. Better keep it in RAM.

something weird is happening. the last program i installed was isilo, and i had 8.2 mb left. then later that night i saw i had 8 mb left. then the next day i look again, 7.8. later that day 7.2. i just checked now and i have 6.7 mb free. what is going on? i havent added any programs to the handheld, all ive done is add some stuff to the memory stick and run it off that using z launcher. the only additions i made to the handheld were two phone numbers and a memo. does anyone know what is going on? are magic gnomes eating my memory?
