Well, I bought the CF card and took it back a few days later for the same reasons you mention. Speed was ok but a lot of pages (1 out of 3) gave the page too large error (bleh) and none of the page views did me much good and there was no landscape mode?! I tried a few other browsers and none of the seemed to deliver a decent handheld browsing experience. Which is a bummer because the card worked flawlessly with my Airport system at home.

First, do a search on "wifi card" and "netfront". That'll yield you answers in depth to your questions.
Second, fiddle with the Netfront settings. My favorite is images and tables only. No cache also helps, though, I have been running a small one tonight with no ill effects.

I am both the resident and certified Net Front hater:D! There are other browsers out there, depending on your needs. WebProV is nice and is the default one on the Tungsten, found at http://leggnet.com/clie/

Make sure the powersave on option in your Clie's wirless settings is unchecked! That will slow down an already slooooow browser. BTW, I refuse to use a browser that has to have all it's options disabled in order to run it, ridiculous:D:D:D!

Though this is my own personal opinion, I truly believe anyone who thinks NetFront is a good browser has not tried anything (actually everything) else. That or they only browse a limited few very simple websites. It is a shame since it does offer the most features of any of the available browsers.

This would be the order I place Palm browsers.

1. WebProV runs 320 x 320 is very stable
2. Blazer runs 160 x 160 is very stable but resolution makes images appear poorly.
3. PocketLink runs 320 x 480 but slow and buggy
4. NetFront runs 320 x 480 but is even slower if possible and at least as buggy with many page errors.
