After reading through the forums for about 2 hours last night, I am still confused as to which CF drivers are available.

Of course, there Eruware. But as for the "alternate" options, are these it? Please correct me, since I have no idea what I'm talking about. :P

1) NX73 with 3-bit-patch
or
2) Mini's patch (patches the "banned" apps???)

And regarding the NX73 drivers, I have the following:

CFSlot.prc
CFStorageLib.prc
CFLib.prc
CFUtility.prc

According to the "Hacking the NX73 CF Driver" document, it refers to the first two files. What are the last two used for?

I would consider buying the Eruware without hesitation, but several people mentioned that the "alternates" are more stable when playing movies than the Eruware. That is my only interest for wanting to use CF.

Thanks,
Roland

First off, which device do you have? NX60/70 or NX73/80??

Im going to assume you have either an NX60or 70, so;

You will need the 3 bit patch driver or Pelacas driver (Pelacas includes the 3 bit patch)

Of the files you pointed out, you only need to install the first two (then soft reset your device) to get the CF slot to work as a storage device.

If you want to use CF modems, you need to install the other two (CF Utility is Pelacas CF Modem utility).

The only disadvantage of the hacked drivers is that when the CF Card is in the slot, it is mounted and using a small ammount of power all the time. With the Eruware you can un-mount the card using software (so you can still have it in the slot but not used) But Hacked driver is alot better at Movie Playback. (I switch between the two depending on what i need)

Hope this helps

My primary focus is also playing movies on my NX80. Which drivers should I get? I have also heard that I need to update the audio player and movie player so that it can play the media directly from the CF card. Is it correct?
