Well, I don't know what happend, but my CF slot is no longer popping out on my NX80V when I pull the slot release slider. I have to manually pull it out with my nail. I've only had mine for less than 2 months.

I bought mine at Dell :(. I wish I could just go to Best Buy and exchange it. I am thinking of just keeping it like this. It does not bother me too much that it does not pop out. CF card seems to work properly.

Has anyone else experienced this with their NX80V?

I would contact SONY as you know you still have a one year parts and labor warrenty on the thing or have Dell send you another one overnight, they are usally pretty good about Customer Service issues even though it's a Sony Product.

Did it get any dirt or debris in it or is the CF door misalinged?

It it a little bit misaligned. If I look infront of the unit with the closed CF door facing down, it sticks out a little bit more on the left side.

OK, I called Sony and after couple of minutes talking to a robot I got transfered to a human followed by another transfer to another human. The outcome is: they will ship me an empty box which I have to return to them with the clie and they will fix it. I'll let you know how I make out.

OK, the box with a fedex label has arrived on Friday - two days after I called sony. I shipped it on Monday afternoon. Got it back fixed on Thursday. Pretty good!

Note that even though it was a pure mechanical problem, they still completely erazed the RAM. I did a MSBackup of the system before shipping the unit, but my game high scores did not get restored...
