Hold Button On The Remote

I use the hold button(on the pda) regularly when listening to mp3's and it saves a lot of battery life. I stopped using the hold button on the remote however because I didn't see a difference in battery life. Is it supposed to save much or any of the battery life, and if so is it significant enough that I should start using it again?

The hold button on the remote is for preventing you pressing accidental a button (on the remote). That's all.
