I can't find any Magic Gate MS's anywhere!! Have the been dicontinued or something? The UX is Hot, but why didn't Sony give it at least a 1.3 mega pixel camera!?!?

try serching for them, they sell them on the sony site, the only magic gates being sold in stores are the 256 512 and 1gig cans those aren't really magic gate yet since they dont' support sonic stage (yet) so 128's been discontinued in stores, 64 is entirely gone, they just want people to pay more for magica gate (a lot more)

by the way, you see the size of the cylinder at the top of the nx80 compared to the 70? people would rather not have that bulk (at least iwouldn't) and you'd have that bulk with a 1.3 mp camera

you're talking about 64 mb and the 128 mb magic gate right?, 128 still sells on sony's site but no where else, 64 is discontinued, and by the way i just checked there no price or "add to cart" on the website so anyone looking for a magic gate 128 will just have to settle for a 256, unless you try ebay.......hint hint

USE THE NEW SONY MEMORY STICK DUO's in 64mb 128mb and soon in 256MB & 512MB by Christmas so you can use sonic stage !!!

i don't prefer memory stick duo myself i dont have any products that use them, (yet) yeah i'm a sony freak

the ms pro's are all magicgate... have seen them in many stores in san diego... bought my 2, 256 and 512 , off the shelf...

Right, I had heard they were being phased out. It was a dumb idea and I still think it dumb. The government controls my life enough now, I surely don't need Sony to add to it!!!

Unless you plan on encoding your CDs directly to ATRAC3, you're not missing out on anything. Transcoding 192kbps (or lower) MP3s to ATRAC3 only worsens the sound quality. i'd much rather go with a larger MS than go with one of the MG sticks.

Sony specs state 96 to 128 kbs only not 192kbs

I use RealOne audio to rip my music, and I use the Real8 which is their version of ATRAC3 and it lets me rip in the sony format all the way down to 32 sampling rate. And it transfers to the 128 magic gate with out any flaws.

Does the sony product convert it back to the minimum 96 before writing or can it actually play smaller formats and sony just restricted their software on sonicstage? BTW I kinda hate the sonic stage new set up on the new clies, anyone else find it hard to navigate or is it just me getting lost as usual lol.:D

nah i like the look, but i hate the set up and how youi accesss the songs and stuff, oyhu mean the sonic stage 1.5 black and orange stuff right? the first sonic stage blue version was cool and easy to use......i just liked the new look thats why i put it on all my computers
