NX70 to NR70

Does anyone know what rom files from NX70 will work on the NR70? Probly not many because of the OS5 deal. I just think it would be really cool to have the new Clie Launcher on my NR70V. And steal the movie recorder, damn why doesn't that come with NR70V!!!!!

Im pretty sure that the video software from the NX70 won't work on an NR70V.

I use Vivid on my NR and it works great. You can get Vivid from www.clievideo.com

Haven't tried it, but I would imagine one would be able to use the Clie developer POSE with a NX rom image and export any PRC they wanted. I was able to export the Calc prc from the NR70 rom that way (I wanted to see how the form resource was laid out.).

The only things that work are the PIM apps. That is, Datebook, Phone book (no pictures), todo list, Memo, Clie Memo (for drawing memos). I believe nothign else works.

An easy way to get all the files is to copy them with filez to a memory stick at any computer store.

THe only way you can upgrade to OS5 is to buy an OS5 device. OS5 requires a new CPU, and it doesn't support the CPU in the NR/T/SJ/SL devices.

The only programs that work on the NR70 are Clie Memo, Datebook, Address book, To Do List and Memo Pad. That is only because these are OS4 apps that Sony never bothered to upgrade when they released the NX70 (OS 5 has OS 4 emulation built in). I remember this because I used to own an NR70 before I upgraded and I got these and only these apps to work. All other apps, including audio player, movie player, clie launcher, etc. DO NOT WORK on the NR70.

You can probably find the NX70 apps in one of those yahoo groups, there should be one that's dedicated for the NR70.

But the (or a) Audio Player ist already of the NR70V all the time.
