Out of the files on the Sony support site for NX70V, which ones are essential? I'm still figuring this all out, but since the ROM cannot be modified and these updates take up valuable RAM., I'm wondering if some are really that necessary...
Based on that, which updates are truely beneficial? Are any of them critical? By critical, I mean cause the need for resets and are night and day faster/better than the ones on ROM.
Thanks!

The system update pack is very important. It fixes an MP3 issue and prevents unexpected hard resets! Without the patch, if you do a soft reset, it will automatically hard reset. It has something to do with the memory stick and a power issue during a reset. You can delete the ATRAC3 file if you never use ATRAC3.
If you plan on using a MS Pro stick or the CF card, then you'll need the MS Pro driver, specific for your region Clie.
The rest are only if you want to upgrade some apps. The Flash Player is probably the best, the rest can be replaced by 3rd party apps that do a much better job. I hope this helps you some ;)

Thanks!
That's what I was looking for.
Is the Netfront the only web browser available for OS5 HiRes?

No, there is also PocketLink-II found at www.palmgear.com and it's HiRes+.
You can also try WebProV, it's only HiRes though, but it's free.
