I'm a linux neophite. I didn't expect it to hotsync after opening kpilot and pressing the hotsync button, so it didn't. It says that it looks for it in /dev/pilot. I'd assume it would be under /usb/*something*. Am I correct?
PS: How do I install mozilla firebird (if anybody knows)
PPS: Running Mandrake 9.1, kde, NX70 via usb.

Yeah it is looking in the wrong place, change it in settings, should be something like '/dev/ttyUSB1' number on end obviously can be different depending on number of devices....

If I remember correctly, Firebird didn't need any installation. I just extracted the files from the tar.gz file and ran the app.

I actually got my NX70 to hotsync all the pim stuff but not back up files. It turns out the issue was I had a usb connector inside my PC screwed up so that _none_ of the usb ports worked but I fixed it. And when I unzipped the tar.gz file I got a whole bunch of files but none that could be "ran."
Maybe I downloaded the source, but I don't know how.

Nevermind, found the right file. Its kind of strange though. Its just a regular looking file (no custom program icon) and I can't figure out yet how to edit the icon so that it shows up correctly. At least I'm getting a vague idea on how to add files to the kde menu.
