View Full Version : why does my Clie blink on startup?
Just wanted to see if someone has the same symptom. Ever since I installed Datebk5, when I turn the Clie on, the screen (but not the VG) blinks (looks like screen repainting quickly) about 3-5 times. It could be one of my hacks, I guess, and I could list them if someone asks, but I suspect Datebk, because it started very soon, if not right after I installed it.

Are you using a launcher? I have datebook but no "blinking" on start up. I get a quick redraw of my VG but I think that's related to zlauncher.
Nope, no launcher. And it doesn't affect my VG. I'm going to look into disabling my hacks. I had a crash today, and when it restarted, there was no blinking. On subsequent restarts, the blinking returned. Only thing is, all these hacks were on there before datebook, but no blinking then. Thanks pigburger. Maybe someone else will have the right combo of installed stuff to test against. I'll post back soon; as I don't happen to have my Clie handy. *shudder*

I have the same thing going on. My NR blinks once. I'm using YiShow for the launcher and pop-up-time is the only hack. It's not realy a blink, but the brightness peaks and then drops a fraction of a second after the NR is turned on. Almost like a pulse. No problems with stability though.
Well, it was a hack after all. Open Logo hack v1.10. But it didn't used to cause the blinking. I am going to change the logoDB to see if it helps (maybe it got a little corrupted?).
On a side note, I am now getting fatal errors when I disable a hack. It's always just one of the six in my list, but not consistently the same one.

my clie sj22 has a dark screen, blinks palm powered on and off. won't run, any ideas? Thanks
hereward, start a new thread, this one's old, and pretty much off-topic for your question (since I found out what my problem was). I forgot about this thread, it's from almost 2 years ago!
Sounds like a more serious problem than mine was. Have you tried a soft or hard reset?
