* - One is $600, one is $800.

* - The iQue uses SD cards, NZ90 Memory Sticks.

* - NZ90 has 11MB of user accesible RAM, iQue has 32MB (probably 28MB user accesible).

* - One is bigger and has 2MP digital camera, other is a bit smaller and has a GPS system.

* - iQue appears to have the Palm Universal Connector, and the NZ90 has a repositioned connector making it incompatible with some accesories.

* - NZ90 has built-in bluetooth, current iQue does not but does have a SD I/O port.

* - Both have a 320*480 screen, jog dial w/ back button, voice recorder, MP3 Playback

Unknowns: From the looking I've done the iQue apparently does have a Palm Universal Connector but it is completely unknown if it will work with the new keyboard. Also, from screenshots seen it appears to be using Palm's new Hi-Res+ API for it's 320*480 screen but that is pure speculation. There are a lot of unknown factors about the iQue at this time.

Tough call, but I prefer the integrated camera and clamshell more; however, second choice , CLEARLY the Garmin...

I chose the Garmin mainly due to the RAM. I'm not completely sure though because I'm not sure if the iQue supports the bluetooth SD card that works with Palm Pilots?

While a GPS system is a "nice too have" a can think of a lot more use for a digital camera. Actually now while waiting for the NZ90 to come out I keep seeing oportunities where I wish that I had a small digital camera build into my pda...

I feel just the opposite. I can see a lot more uses for having a device with GPS that links to the address book than a digital camera. If you read up on the Garmin you can see all it can do.

Here is where I get flamed...... IMHO....You need the Garmin in order to have collision avoidance capability, from a nearby NZ ..... sorry .....err ....ahh ....hanging up now...

Too bad the NZ's connector is on the BACK! I mean what the heck kind of accessories can we use with our NZ90 anyways if the connector is on the back? If i'm charging my NZ90 with a portable charger, I have to put the NZ90 upside down and have the plug stick into its back. It looks like the only thing the connector is good for is to hook up with the cradle. No more gamepad for my games =(

Do you mean the CF connector? I thought it was only good for the WiFi card anyways...or do you mean the memory stick slot? What games you play that require that to be on the top?

What yOyOYoo means is the short cable on the gamepad accesory will most likely not reach to the repositioned HotSync connector port. I don't like the fact the WiFi (as it should be called) port is on the bottom and the MS slot on the side. In many ways Sony has taken a step back with the design of the NZ90.

I think it was a dream, because if Sony did bring out such a cradle for the NZ it would add another $200 plus to the price of the unit. Yeah, an $800 PDA with another $200 GPS cradle! No thanks, at that price I'd just get me a Sony Vaio laptop and a GPS adapter for it.

Yea, All NRA members are crazed psychos...... Not decent law abiding citizens who want to protect their 2nd amendment rights. Just like ALL Clie fans want aTform factor PDA with OS5 and no keyboard....

Generalizations don't work, dude....

Yea they did have a car cradle at the CES in las vegas about a month ago. But it will not be available for at least a year, and will not work with any current CLIEs. But it looked cool very cool.

When Garmin designed the iQue, I WAS THE FOCUS GROUP!

Too bad they didn't listen to me when I said it should be smaller.

Actually the demo at CES was supposedly done on an NX.

if the Garmin has a camera i would buy it; not much use for a GPS though. But the 32mb is sweet.

One thing needs to be pointed out about Garmin, even though the hardware isn't proprietary (SD card), mapwise/GPS interface.... they guard it like junkyard dogs and I fear that it may limit its customizability...

I just don't understand why anyone outside of the outdoorsman type would need a GPS device. In my 10 cent opinion, it's just a nifty "good to have but I'll use it once and only once" kind of thing.

I can see a use for a camera so much more than I can for GPS device. UNLESS... you happen to be a Delta Force Operator or some Seal team kicking *** in some jungle. City folk? techies? it managers and executives?...need GPS?

Come on... really?

In this case, managers & executives will not be lost in the office after getting a morning coffee from the pantry ... iQue 3600 will come handy for this case. Phew ....

Garmin! It has nothing to do with a Camera vs GPS it has everything to do with Sony will not give me a REAL new T series with VG. We ALL know that Sony reads these boards like a hawk (free market research) so knowing they read this and flat out ignore what the majority of us want then screw Sony all together. Garmin got it right.

Unregisnerd,
Real estate types, sales calls, business meetings in different cities.... Shall I go on? I have Mapopolis on my NX for this purpose. I don't need it often, but it's there...

AMEN!!!! What the hell are they waiting for. You know they read these boards and see tons of users requesting a smaller form-factor with 320x480 screen. This is the device I'm waiting for. I think they should go head to head with the Tungsten (add bluetooth, voice memo & mp3) but with a 320x480 screen. Who wouldn't buy this device?

I'll buy the Garmin also for the same reasons. Plus GPS will be cool.

You'll probably be excited to know that the Garmin already has voice memo and MP3 capability right out of the box! The only thing missing from the TT is bluetooth and the ultra-tiny size. The Garmin is about 1" taller than the TT and definitely thicker at the top, ala NX70V. Weight is comparable, likely because of the TT's dense formfactor. I'm considering the Garmin as well. GPS sounds fun! The 32MB RAM and hires+ screen are pretty damned tempting!!!

Ya, I know the Garmin has that stuff; and I'm excited about it too. I can live without bluetooth (but it would be nice). But, what I'd like to see is Sony make the above described unit - T series, VG, mp3, bluetooth, voice recorder - at a lower price point than the Garmin. I'm thinking $399 to go straight at the Tungsten.
