Hello, i was only able to play 15fps videoclips converted using the imageconverter utility, is there any option to do and watch 30fps videos on the clie nx80v?

Only way I know of is to get a UX 50, run a 30 FPS video on it, then start up the camera app on the NX 80, point it at the UX 50 and watch the 30 FPS video at 10 FPS on the NX screen.

Oh BTW, I think you can use Kinoma if you want 30fps movies. However, the quality of the movie is worse than the same movie converted using the image converter.

30 fps can be done with TMPGenc (freeware). Play with the resolution and data rate settings. I can get 24 or 25 fps like this on an AVI or MPEG source video:
1. 288x208 resolution
2. 800 kbps datarate
3. the rest of the video settings at defaults
4. 128 bit stereo sound
5. Save as an MPEG-1
6. Name it MOV0xxxx.MPG (use digits for the x's).
7. Put it in a directory on the memory stick called MSSONY\MOML000x (again, use a digit for the x)
8. In Movie Player click on the "Movie Player format" dropdown item and change it to "MPEG Movie format". You should see the MOV0xxxx that you created.
9. Enjoy your movie clip!
Depending on your source video, you should get quite an impressive surprise on your NX or TG device compared to the choppy video you get with the default settings of Image Converter. Naturally the file size will be larger, but if you like solid smooth video, it's definitely worth it!
wow, joetunon, quite a detailed 30fps setting! :)
so I suppose you're running off the *.mpg off a CompactFlash or is it just off the MemoryStick?
May I ask about the file size? or is a short clip. thanks. :p

They're just 1 to 3 minute trailers (Star Wars), that come out to between 10 to 15 MB, depending on the length. That's why I said they're large files compared to their 15fps counterparts, but man do they look good! And yes, that's running straight off the memory stick! I'm surprised they didn't add hi frame support into Image Converter since the Movie Player can obviously handle it.
By the way, if your audio source is mono, you can bump the data rate from 800 to 850 kps, which can make a difference to picky eyes like mine.

LOL :D
Actually the new UX50 handles 30fps with the UX50's new ImageConverter, I know a few guys who has already experimented with it, in hopes that it would work on the previous CLIEs such as NX/NZ/TG, yet MoviePlayer just don't seem to support the *.MQV files at 30fps. :(

Yo Eddy!, any idea did those guys who tried the 30fps MQV files use the original MoviePlayer 1.0 from the NX/NZ or the MoviePlayer 1.1 ripped out of the UX? IF it didn't work on the 1.0 it may well work on the 1.1?

I tried that but I don't think we can play them in old CLIEs. As the libraries in UX50 is quite different w/ other CLIEs, that's device-specific.
Actually handling the MPEG4 decoding process is not MoviePlayer, is those libraries.

I see....was still hopeful that it may work on a NX80 :(.... so which OS 5 Clie did you try the 30fps mqv on?
I think Jackho tried out on the UX50 Native MoviePlayer as well as on PC's QuickTime, but according to his info. it will not playback on previous CLIEs. :(

I tried that new MQV file in NX80, NZ90 and UX50. Of course only UX50 can play it, all other CLIEs reported format not supported.
Although I can't play such MQV in my NZ, but in QT and UX50's playback, quality is really good. Especially 768kbps bitrate video, I compared w/ 384kbps, much more clear pictures...
Maybe someone can try patch the MPEG4 decoder library (for removing format checking) to see it can work or not...
