how can i get the video recorded on the clie nx70 to play on my winXP? it says the file is in the form of a .mai which i dont know what the fizzuck that is. can anyone help me here?

MAI is the associated information file for a MQV movie. I think all you have to do is copy the file to your PC via MS Import and then rename it to MOV, then view it with Quicktime. Look back through some of the movie threads for further info.

yeah, if your trying to play the mai file then you wont get anywhere. Your most likely looking in the wrong directory. Your movies are stored in:

mq_root/100mqv01

There should be an mqv file here. That's what you want to copy over and play in Quicktime. You might need to rename it .mov depending on your version of quicktime.

Also, Qucktime 5 will not play these files. They are encoded in a form of MPEG-4 that version 5 does not support. You will only be able to play these files with Quicktime 6 (and possibly a software or hardware DVD/SVCD player). On a side note, sony tech support sux0rs!
