I bought Launcher X on December 31 and installed it. A week later I'm forced to use a new hotsync ID, so I contact all the software developers and they immediately issue new registration codes for their products - all except Bozidar Benc, AKA Little Mobile Creations.
A day after sending my support request to support@launcherx.com, I get an email telling me to resend my message to support.urgent@launcherx.com. I do so and a week goes by. I send another email and another week goes by. I send a third email and I'm still waiting a couple of days later. NO RESPONSE. NOTHING!
I'm sorry but this guy does NOT know how to run a business. I can only imagine he's making a small fortune for his geographic location (according to a Palmgear interview), and see little reason why he can't hire one of his local buddies to help him weed through the simple questions.
3+ weeks is too long to wait to fix such a simple problem. He took my $20 with no hesitation.
Yeah, I'm waiting for a response to an email also. What gives.
PS, have your tired the Yahoo Launcher group?

this guy is the reason so many people are starting to look towards patched programs, keygenerators, and other pirated software... this is a total rip off... this guy really needs to start helping his consumers out a little bit better. I wish I had never bought this software...
short of him being dead there is no excuse for him...

YiShow is great. Response is very prompt. No problems with my installation.

That's just a horrible thing to say!

Just out of curiosity, why would you be "forced" to use a new hotsync name?
And the answer to your problem is a wonderful little app called, "_HaCkMe_" (either that, or get a new launcher).

2nd comment first: I'd really rather not use a hack program. Not so much for moral reason (I could easily feel justified in using it), but as a matter of simplicity. Why not do things right from the start so they don't cause problems later. In fact, that is sort of why I was 'forced' into changing my hotsync ID.
I was down to about 1MB of usable RAM and I thought it was high time to clean everything out.
My former hotsync name also used to be my complete name, and not all of it fit. Many years ago, when I set up my first Palm was asked for my hotsync ID, it let me enter my entire name. But when I needed to actually type in my hotsync ID for any reason, it would give me fits because the software had truncated it automatically. It was a long time before I figured out there was a problem, and a while more before I figured out what the problem actually was.
So I changed my username for multiple reasons of convenience and asthetic. Not really forced, but it seemed like the best thing to do.

IMHO, the "contact developer for a regkey" is NOT a good way of doing things.
*It is slow. It was a few days after I purchased LX, that I actually got a key and could use the software without the nag screens.
*Its a burden on the developer. Because it requires a direct line of communication between the developer and the purchaser.
*There is more room for error. Requiring valid input from both the purchaser and the developer.
*The system obviously breaks down quite easily.
*Of course, it does let the developer control the level of 'security' for his registration process.
*But then, it also puts the purchaser at the complete mercy of a possibly unreasonable developer.
Anyway, all of the other developers were completely cooperative in doing this. C.E.S. Dewar of DateBK5 contacted me within 30 minutes of my request.
I could go back to my old user name again (as inconvenient as it would be on my end), but then I'd also be forced to once again inconvenience the 'cooperative' developers, whom I'm very greatful to.
Iambic will automatically generate a new reg code for you if your device ID changes, as long as you are registered with them.
Also, it shouldn't matter why your device ID change. If you contact a developer for support, they should respond to you.

I moved onto YiShow. The lack of suppport from LX, the lack of a key advertised feature caused me to move on. I am now a registered owner of Silverscreen, LX and YiShow. The only upside is I can move around at will.
Speaking of will, will LX ever release and update or the missing feature that was so advertised or will they even release "skins" they suppport?

I finally broke down and started using MultiUserHack. This was my last resort and what I hope is only a temporary fix.
If Benc won't respond, he can't really complain either I guess.

there is a keygen out for lx also, and no that is not how I got my copy of lx, I bought it the first day it came out... unfortunate mistake I might add.
We seem to be having mixed experiences. I crossgraded to LX the first day and got my reg code immediatly. I got the updage emails and the new codes as well. Can't expalin the lack of response other than this seems to have happened before. I'm going to try MultiUserHack also.

I got my registration code right away (the first day it was available). But, since then, everytime I report a problem or ask a question, I get no response. Ever...
It's a good thing that LX is working okay for me.
