Is it possible to hotsync my n760c with my laptop through the ir port

i just got a laptop yesterday and i was wondering if it's possible to hotsync my clie n760c with my laptop through the ir port or do i need the cradle. I was just wondering this because when i try did something on my clie o try and eam something a screen came up and it said it had found a wireless device or something like that.

Yes, it is possible, but it's painfully slow. I did it a few times for novelties sake, but it took much too long to use this as your regular means of connecting. For example, hotsyncs via IR took about 15-20 MINUTES!! If you close down some conduits, it will help improve the time, but I would advise you to purchase a sync cable if you want to be able to sync on the road.
