Skins 101...

I have a new Clie' (SJ22) and would like info on skins. My previous 2 PDA's were both monochrome Palms and putting skins on these wasn't an option.

I have been browsing these posts as well as other info on line - but just need very basic info on how these work and the steps needed to be able to put skins on my PDA.

I get the feeling I need "ZLauncher" to do this and that some of these skins also will change the way my PDA works because I see that some of them have the buttons, etc. in different places - what I mean is this is more than just putting a background picture on my Clie' right?

Simple answer: Yes, you need ZLauncher or some other App launcher in order to have skins on the launcher page. Certain applications such as Agendus, allow displaying of background images behind certain views.

The beauty of ZLauncher is that you can configure it to have as many or as few features as you like. You can simply use it to install a background and set the settings to make it as similar to the default Palm launcher as you wish. Of course, half the fun of ZLauncher is customizing it...
