Just got back from Circuit City with my NX80V and a 2 year Protection Plan.
I got $75 off with the Office Depot Coupon Code for $75 off $500. Good deal, huh.:D
Well, I guess it is time to open the box, check it out, and find something to do for 4 hours while it charges. Maybe I'll go play Splinter Cell.;)

If you actually took the time to post to Cliesource BEFORE opening the box, you're not worth of the NX80!! :)

Well, that is a little bit of an odd reply.
I had ckecked it out in the store like 3 times before I bought it. It is now underway in the charge process.
So I like ClieSource. Is that a crime. If so, I am guilty as charged.;)

But congrats on the NX80; I just got mine last weekend and it is one sweet device!!

Oh, darn, you forgot to tell me not to open the box in CC's parking lot!
As soon as I parked my bottom on the front seat of my truck, the NX80 was out of the box. I almost dropped it too. I did resist the temptation to turn it on. On my drive home I did think of posting on ClieSource, AFTER I read the book and had it on charge. :D

I always open the box in the parking lot and read the paperwork on the way home. I know, I know. Should try to read and drive.

Heck, I opened my NX70 IN the store, but that was only because they dropped the box (but its packed well).
Then I spent my 4 hour shift at work letting it charge.

It is all charged now! Seemed like an eternity. I definitely need to push harder on it than my old NR70V. I was messing around with the keyboard, and I found out how to control the backlight. The control popped up, and I realized it was only on half brightness. I though it was all the way up. Boy is this baby bright.

LOL. I did the same when I'd driven down to Niagara Falls, the NY side, from Ontario to get my NX80V. I was sitting in the parking lot for almost an hour to check every single item in the box. I just simply wanted to check everything should be there was there since it was a good 2.5 hours drive home. Well, maybe that was an excuse, just couldn't resist the tempataion!
Then I plug my new Clie into the 110V converter in my car and headed home. I had to admit that I did pull over to the gas station a couple of times on my way home to read the manual and playing with the Xigma case which I'd got a week before I bought my Clie. Yeah, I was playing with the empty case at home for almost a week. It took almost 3 hours for me to get home, so it was not that bad because there was only another hour to wait before I could turn on my Clie.
By the way, that hour or two was not hard for me since I did check out here in Cliesource for all kind of info. for upgrading from t615 to OS5 machine. Since then, my NX80V becomes my best buddy. My cat is getting a little jealous now!
Cheers

Keep us posted okay - I'm still torn between waiting for a UX50 or going for an NX80. Or waiting still longer for other hypothetical models (NZ replacement?)

I was also torn between the UX and the NX. I chose the NX becaue of the larger screen, the compact flash slot, and because the screen can't switch between protrait and landscape on the UX.
Plus the UX does not have the remote control software. That is GREAT for playing pranks on people, especially in electronic stores.;)
as soon as i see the nx73 in stores in canada i'm all over it

I was going to purchase the NX73 cause I prefered the black finish, and didn't care that much about the resolution of the camera.
At the time I was ready to purchase, Dell was running a special "20% Off" deal. They also had discounted the NX80 by $30, to $569, and RAISED the NX73 to $579!
I called several times, asking them to sell the NX73 for the MSRP of $499 less the 20%, and was told they couldn't do that! They even went online to the Sonystyle website and confirmed that the correct price for the NX73 should have been $499, but they STILL wouldn't lower the price.
The special 20% off deal was ending within a day, so being I could get the NX80 for LESS then the NX73 (what a bunch of goofs at Dell! This went on for several days, with several phone calls to Dells tech support) I finally got the NX80, and I'm thrilled with it!
Extra Heap memory and higher resolution are nice to have.
