Hi guys,

I am thinking to make a switch from my T665 to NR70V. Would you recommend it?

What do you need? Keyboard? Camera? Better battery life? At the cost of slimness? What do you need/want? I love my NR, but if the T does it for you, then I'd keep it.

I wouldn't mind having the camera, even though the resolution is only 320x240. I don't know if I'd use the keyboard, possibly yes. I kinda like that a clamshell doesn't require you having a case. How is the battery life of the NR comparing to a T, by the way?

From what I hear the battery is better on the NR, I get over 5 hours per charge. If the size doesn't bother you I would go for it. Size is the only drawback I see with it, and if that doesn't bother you then it's pretty much a no brainer. I thought the heft would bother me (I went from a T415 to an NR, which is even smaller the the T665) but don't even notice it anymore. I love the added protection of the closed clamshell...

Ok, I am interested in getting one. Now I just have to find the best deal possible on it since they've been discontinued.

Depends on what you need. I love my T665C and wouldn't consider moving to an NR. I don't care for the keyboard, don't need the camera, and prefer the T-series form factor. YMMV.

I agree with Tanker Bob! From this forum, the camera on the NR is marginal. I prefer graffiti to pecking on a tiny keyboard, and I love being able to drop my T665 in my pants or shirt pocket. Now if you are a female (as Liliya would suggest), your clothing options are obviously different. :) Another consideration is, as you found out, the NR is discontinued and there is much hype about several new Sony PDAs coming out in the next couple of months. Might want to enjoy your T665 a while longer and play the "wait and see" game! Sales and marketing folks are well aware of when tax refund time is! :D

Then go for NR70 only, the one without camera and secure an elegant leather case for your NR, believe me you will need it. I will suggest a Covertec case for it.

I love my T665, but what makes me want to have the NR is mainly the screen 320x480 and a virtual graffiti. I am considering NR70V over NR70 because both of them are the same size only NR70V has a camera as a bonus. Why not have it? Oh and as for the thumbboard on it, if it won't be useful for me so be it, I'm just gonna use the graffiti then and external keyboard. But I think I would use it at least sometimes for quick SMS.

New Sony devices dissapointed me. The NX has CF slot that makes the PDA even bigger, but I would go for it if only it was useful... You can't even use it as a memory 'cause Sony didn't make any drivers for it. And the NZ, geez that thing is even bigger, I don't really care for 2 megapixel camera.

Even though I love small size gadgets. NR seems to be the compromise between all of them with features I want - bigger screen and virtual graffiti.

I agree w/ Tanker Bob. I don't think the size trade-off is worth it. Personally, I am waiting for a T series w/ VG and some sort of built in wireless such as BT or better yet Wi-Fi.

I just bought NR70V, I am so happy :-)
Geckotek, the upcoming NZ90 has Bluetooth and CF slot that's only intended for Wi-Fi (at least for now). I doubt we will see T series with those features without giving up its size. You add all those and it naturally adds to the bulk.

I am now an owner of the NR. Yaahhooooooo!!!

Before anything is done with the T665 we need a removable battery or a larger one so we can add all the accessories everyone wants. A removable battery would help keep battery life without compromising size (only money).
