I have searched and read through tons of threads, but haven't found an answer to my question. Is is possible to rename you image or movie file on your CLIE?

I have already found and downloaded the application that lets you change the name of the .mqv file, but what I am looking for is to change the name that is visible in CLIE Viewer and Movie Player. Thank you.

I know that for the pictures you can just drag and drop to the memory stick.

Quality is great, however it the Clie Viewer loads up slower, it all depends on the dimensions of the picture.

sad but true

the camera acts like a true dig camera - that is file name auto assigned - i believe the slideshow software provides some editing...

I'm guessing you are using NX Movie Aide to rename the .MQV file. But to rename the title that is displayed inside the movie player app, all that's required is to hit the little icon next to the title that looks like a movie film. A properties box will show up and you can edit the name.

I removed NX Movie Adie because it does NOT work with CF and seems to have servere problems when MS is almost full.

I really dont know how this happened but when i loaded movies using the Image converter, it retained the names and didnt re-christen it into some funny .... (have no idea what to call it) ... the same sure happens with jpegs though ... DSC****** whatever, I'll check and let you guys know about the movies ...

I use FileZ to rename images. The new name is then visible in Clie Viewer. And it's a freeware..

Image Converter places images in /DCIM/101MSDCF

On the MS: /DCIM/101MSDCF (same thing on the CF)

yep, there are my piccies, but Filez still wont let me rename them?!? theres no option to rename them??? ACK

EDIT this is unbelieveably bleh. Clie Files lets me rename the files...this NX70V has more quirks than a Windows machine it seems!

I can rename the files in Movie Player. All I do is go to the list of movies and then tap the little film icon on the far left, which open the movie information screen and then rename the movie clip. I hope this helps.

To rename images with Filez I select the image in MS/DCIM/101MSDCF folder, then click on "details" button and modify the name..(it must finish with .jpg). That's all

I'm working on fixing NX Movie Aide to work with CF and improve stability.

Images can be renamed with no problem. The DSC00001 etc system is good because it provides a base system among all digi cams, sony or not. just load them to your comp for faster renaming and sync/import back to your MS and it's all good . . . . you can also use a third party image viewer that will scan for images in all directries instead of just the DCIM directory.

the problem is with the movies . . . . i wish you could rename them which makes much more sense than images because you don't often have 150 movies like you would images form a digi cam . . . .
i'm also having major issues with getting movies to play from SD on my panasonic portable DVD player but this isn't the forum to solve that . . . .
