Well, I'm a complete newbie to this new MS PRO stuff, and was about to get one, then realising that the MS PRO's have 'Magic Gate' labelled on them...

So had Sony decided to make Magic Gate and the original MemoryStick 2 in 1?

Haha...I shall quote what someone else said in another thread...there is no "magic" in the MSPro, even though it's supposed to be MAgic Gate..... Attrac3 files do not work on the NX from MSPro... Don't ask me why...they just don't...

Yeah... I'm thinking about getting 2x 256mb (2x128 each) Lexar MemorySticks... I mean, speed isnt that important to me, and I dont think I'll mind taking the cards out and switching the switches on them. I could always split the movies etc.
Almost like having partitions on your hard drives... except you can set the sizes.

Another reason is cost I guess. I'd rather pay approx $160 USD for the 2x256/4x128 than $200 USD for 2x256MSpro

Might seem strange to you guys, but $40 USD is like $80 NZD so thats $80 difference... Being a student, $80 is quite a hefty sum... not to mention being able to buy the NX80V for $1349NZD in the first place.

Being a student means being prudent ;)

The MagicGate on the MS Pros don't support ATRAC3 sony music copyright format. :p
