MS PRO 1GB Strange Problem

Hi, I replaced my old MagicGate 128MB MS with a 1GB MS PRO, but now I am having problems.

Every time I launch an application it takes some time to load it, because it first make some read on the stick then launch the application. This behaivour would be normal if the application I am launching is on the MS, but the problem is that it's NOT. Even if its a built-in application (Clie Memo) it still reads the stick then load it.

I notice this doesn't happen if I hard reset the device and use it, like to play music or some movie files (I guess the MSPRO update it's just if you want to use the MS Import/Export stuff). It's just after I try to use MS Import or Audio Player Transfer that this begin to happen. Even after I install the MSPRO update it does happen.

So, I am wondering: Is this normal ? Are you 1GB + NZ90 owners having the same problem ?

No, I have no such problem and cannot even give you a hint as to why it's happening in yours :(

Did you try reformat your MS?

any possibility you have a large number of files on the ms pro?
I have seen the ms light blink when accessing regular ram..
I have only a 512 meg ms pro, no strange behaviour

Are you using the launcher that came with the OS or are you using another launcher, perhaps that is where the problem is.

I have been using the 1GB MS for about a month without any problems.

Did you try reformat your MS?
I re-formatted the card not long ago, since I have had it for only 1 week. Anyways, I will try again to see if it can help.

Not really, It's almost full (845MB left).

Ok. I just tested it up with my old MagicGate 128MB MS and it DOES read the MS ever before launching an application, whether or not is on the card. So, I guess this is normal behaviour... it's just that it takes some more time on the 1GB, of course.. because of the difference in size on the MS's I guess (128MB vs 1GB).

I found that strange since I dont remember the same with my old NR70V. Sad enough, I dont have it now and can't do the test. Welp, I think I will have to live with it after all..

Hey guys, I just found out this thread (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10401&highlight=Memory+Benchmark). I ran the application they used to run a test on my NZ90 and got a result of 144 on my 128MB MS and 184 on the 1GB stick. So, this indicate that's all right.

I wonder, can any of you guys, 1GB stick owners run the test also ? It just take a couple of minutes. It's just that I want to make sure before I even think of returning the stick due to this.
