Sorry if this has been asked before; I just got my NX80 yesterday and now I'm playing catchup. I did a search and didn't see anything on it.
Anyways, I've seen the info on getting NX70 VG and status bar skins to work on the NX80, and I've successfully used TnSilkChanger to switch to some of the old VG skins that I made using WPDiver. But what I haven't been able to do is successfully create a new VG skin using WPDiver.
I can open up WPDiver, bring up a list of pics, and then make the size and settings the way I want. However, when I hit Start, it starts the conversion process, but displays the standard VG skin during the conversion. And when it's done, there's nothing for TnSilkChanger to select. The file is there (I can see it with a file manager), but it's much larger than the old skins I made on my NX70 (old ones were about 140K; new ones are 250-300K). I thought maybe it was making a wallpaper instead, but I don't seem to be able to make the file display as a background in any app.
So, has anyone been able to use WPDiver to make a VG skin with a pic on a NX80?

Someone else with an NX80 was having the same problem, so I found out what you need to do is download a new app from the same developer. It's called Display Theme Changer (http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~imazeki/palm/DTch/index.html) and it's a newer version of TnSilkChange. It can change the backdrop of apps, and also the ClieLauncher skins, in addition to the VG area. It's not a finished version yet though, and it doesn't suppot storing the skins on the MS. I have also found a few bugs, but it does appear to work on the NX80. Another catch is you have to download the latest CodeDiver beta, and recreate your skins. :(

Cameron, you're awesome!! Thanks a lot for the help. I just downloaded the new app and I'm off to try it out. I already had the latest beta of CodeDiver and WPDiver (v1.1b3), so I'm all set there. And I usually make new skins with pics of my kids, making new ones all the time, so making new skins isn't a big deal for me. Even so, I'm not sure other would have to make new skins, since TnSilkChanger worked perfectly for me on the NX80 loading the old skins, so unless there's some conflict with having TnSilkChanger and Display Theme Changer on the device at the same time, you could have both and increase your options. I'll test it out and report back here.

Cameron, thanks again!! Display Theme Changer worked great for me. Just as easy to use as TnSilkChanger, but more powerful!!

Ridunn, glad you got help!
I just got home and what have told you that in my opinion while DTC is cool I miss the ability to save to ms, but like the started and stopped WS plug-ins.
Amazing app for just a beta!
And you must have changed your mind about using backgounds, as I remember at one point in time you pretty much used it for setting app start-up to long or norm.
You're the one who introduced me to codediver and I took off running with it. Thanks!
Do any of you guys use the macro function?
I feel it comes in hsndy for some apps.
Hope they add backgound selections for different apps.
My current ram status would allow me to support 2 comfortbly! :)
Congrats on your NX80. :)

Congrats on your NX80. :) Thanks Strongeek. Actually, I haven't changed my mind about using backgrounds for apps. But I always used WPDiver and TnSilkChanger to make VG skins with pictures on my NX70, and now can use WPDiver and DTC on my NX80 to do the same thing. I still think the backgrounds are too distracting on regular apps, but that's the cool thing about CodeDiver; it does so much and is so powerful that it serves a lot of different purposes.
I've never gotten around to using the macro functions on it. What are you using it for?
One thing that I just rediscovered is that you can use it to select the input method that pops up for each app, so I have it set to Graffiti for some and Decuma for others.

OIC and I do agree about the distraction of a backgound on a regular app, thats exactly why I use a backgound that's very subdued and even have it lightened when WPDriver converts it. And I have it off for apps like Wordsmith!
I've never gotten around to using the macro functions on it. What are you using it for?
(1) Zlauncher: To have Zlauncher automatically go directly into Fullscreen (after it's enabled in option is Bottom Bar Setup of course). I'd never use fullscreen because unless I'm missing something it was always an extra step to egt there after the ZL opened. My macro settings with codediver for ZL are X pos: 145 and Y pos 224. I also make sure to set the "SizeChg" to "force" ensure that ZL opens up with the VG pulled down.
(2) Agendus: When I open Agendus it now also automatically opens the "New" meeting, call event, contact and etc picker. And if I don't need to use it I can still view most of my schedule or just tap it away. My macro settings for Agendus are are X pos: 119 and Y pos 221
(3) AutoOff: When I open Auto off it now automatically selects the time I have set up in the 3rd(bottom ) setting. My macro settings for AutoOff are X pos: 118 and Y pos 101 and the 2nd set of macros take me back to the launcher (X pos: 13 and Y pos 176)
(4) BackupMan: When I open Backupman it automatically executes two macros to backup without anymore assistance from me! My macro settings for BackupMan are X pos: 37 and Y pos 187 and the 2nd set of macros tap okay to finish pos: 25 and Y pos 148) I also have set the "SizeChg" to "force" which allows me to see Backpuman in full screen and thus allowing me to see more backups withoy scrolling.
Well, the above are just examples and may not be helpful to some, but since most of the ones I use are assigned to some sort of quick-launch or strung together to be executed back to back I indeed find them very helpful.
I'm using the DA "PointDisp" to get my positions to enter into CD

Yea I know, once again another sweet feature! I tried to inform those in this "DetectSilk" thread http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22569 of codediver's feature to do almost the same as detectsilk and it does it without the reset that some are experiencing.
Over all, it's a great app, but it reminds of database apps. Most people don't truly know the value of a database application until they truly get into it.
Once again, thanks for sharing it!
Later! Time to go get my ball on!

Thank you for this. I was trying to figure out if there was a way for ZLauncher to always go into full screen mode. I would have never thought to do this.

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand how to set macros. I even tried playing around with these, and I got ZLauncher to work, but not Agendus.
Is there somewhere to go that gives more detailed instructions on using the macro function?

katlenski, are you using the DA "PointDisp" to define your tap position?
If not the numbers posted earlier will work, but only if agendus opens up in fullscreen. You can make sure of this by checking force in "sizechg"

Hey Cameron, thanks to you and ridunn I've been able to take advantage of the great app for quite sometime now.
You guys are probably aleady doing something like this already, but others may not be aware of the assignment of graffiti skins to certain apps like Teallock for instance.
With Teallock, I assign the "calculator" skin so that I can use a calc app when I turn my clie without having to unlock my unit.
Thanks Again.

On my device, if I have the Fullscreen icon displaying in the bottom bar and I hit it once, ZL goes full-screen. Then if I launch another app (whether it's hi-res+ or not) and hit the menu button to return to ZL, ZL is still in full-screen mode. Doesn't that work for you guys, or are you talking about something else?

ridunn, maybe I'm missing a feature in ZL, because when I leave and come back I'm in full screen with the staus bar showing again.

Okay, so you use PointDisp to determine where you're tapping on the screen. What's the dif between Left Top and Left Bottom?
Also, what's the difference between Pen and Button? How would you identify a particular button if you wanted one pressed?
P.S. Could you please include a link to download PointDisp? I couldn't find it on PalmGear, Handango or Google. Thanks!

I tried changing several options in ZL one at a time, and I can't get it to NOT go directly back to full-screen mode. Sounds like a conflict with something. Or I wonder if it's skin-related. I'm using the Aquawood skin that came with ZL. Not that it's a big deal or anything, since you found a workaround, but if you're able to track down the cause, let me know and I'll pass it along to ZZtechs.

I used to use wpdiver/tnsilkchange (NX70) but stopped because the resolution for my vg silks drops to 256 colors for the non full screen apps (except the really new ones). This was with wpdiver 1.02. Has this changed or is there any way to correct for this? Thanks.

I pretty sure there is no way to fix that. It has to do with the apps themselves. If the apps are only running in 256 color mode (many of the simpler apps, such as text based stuff like the address book), then the VG area can only be 256 color. But, if the app is running in 16-bit color mode such as multimedia apps, or any app that has full color images in it, than the VG area will also be in 16-bit color mode. This probably won't be changed until OS6 arrives since the OS is still single-tasking and the apps themselves control some things like the color mode. In OS6, the system would probably always stay in 16-bit mode since it would have to support multiple apps running at once.

Click on the WallPaper setting, and in the next screen, turn 16Bit Color to ON. You can leave the WallPaper setting to OFF. This works to differing extents on different apps. For example, with Seahorsesoft Euchre, the app will still come up with the VG area as 256 colors, but if I bring up the statistics and then exit, the VG area becomes 16-bit. In Ultrasoft Money, when I type in the password, the VG area is 8-bit, but after that, it changes to 16-bit. Presumably this is due to how often and when each app does a screen refresh.

Okay, you guys, I found what it is.
It's codediver itself, not Zlauncher
Cameron, you and I must both have had ZL selected to "set" or "force" long(which is what I want). And this won't allow zlauncher to open in full screen.
Since like you said Cameron, we have a fix for it, I'll keep running mine with the macro, but atleast we know what's causing it now.
Thanks for the feedback ridunn, because now I'll be more aware of CD causing unique effects. I'm still surprided is doesn't do anything worse. :)
I also set the other macro to X pos: 28, Y pos: 6. In my case since I always open in full screen I have the date/time a that position, so everytime I open up ZL it toggles the day, next the time and so on.

Paul, why not just remove ZL from the CodeDiver list. ZL opens up in high-res+ without needing assistance, and you can get it to open completely full-screen with the option set. Are you running a macro to do something besides dealing with this situation?

Stronggeek, you know what, you're right. I have ZLauncher set to force the Graffiti area down. I was having problems with the VG area that kept popping up, but that was like version 2 of ZLauncher. I never changed the setting since it's been working fine.

Great, now the fullscreen mode is working fine. The macro worked, but I usually don't have the bottom bar showing, and with the macro, it still had to show.

So your saying there's a setting in ZL that allows me to open up to full screen everytime I enter ZL no matter and even if I leave it with VG showing?
Are you running a macro to do something besides dealing with this situation?
Yes I am, which is why I figure that I mine as well leave my settings as they are, especialy if there is no setting for entering into full screen-no matter how I exit.
2nd Macro: I also set the other macro to <B>X pos: 28, Y pos: 6</B>. In my case since I always open in full screen I have the date/time at that position, so everytime I open up ZL it toggles the day, next the time and so on.

[/B]Nope, that situation it won't handle on it's own. I didn't even think about that, since I never bring up the VG area while I'm in the launcher.
