Quote from PDANews24:

"It's a small utility (http://muchy.com/review/defaultsilk.html) which lets you chose a silk plugin which will automatically be activated upon soft reset, instead of falling back to the standard silk area. For instance, you can make Decuma your default input method with this program..." Very useful. Patrick sent some extra detail as well- "A side note about DefaultSilk: it's a preference panel, so it won't have an icon in the launcher (left me clueless for a minute or so when I tried it). ;-) It works as advertized for the "auto load after reset" function, but it's not yet clear to me what the "Text input" popup list and "Auto up on text input" checkbox exactly do..."

Text input popup list will auto expand the VG area when you click on a text entry field.

For example if your VG is collapsed, and you click on the text area of a memo, the VG will exoand.

This is very useful I think.

That looks very handy! I'm installing right now.

What's really nice is the Slash up and Left will always switch between Graffiti and Decuma even after a reset.

One option that could be nice is to select the secondary Skin that the slash up and left toggles between. For example, switch between NetMon and Decuma all the time. If you choose Decuma and NetMon with another silk selection then after a reset it will default back to Graffiti and Decuma.

But still a great job on this.

And for some more Silk Plug-in apps , check out their "Silk Area Category" found here (http://muchy.com/category/silk_area.html). (I found it by "hovering" my nouse over the active links.) :D

Note: Some apps are not NX-specific, so do your best to determine that from the descriptions...

I cannot get the "Text Popup" feature to work. Anyone else have any luck with this?

OcellNuri,

For me it worked, I've tried it in a NX70v and in a NX80 and in both devices works. Remember when you tap a text field (ie text in memopad) with the VG not showed, it will automatically be shown in order to enter text.

jbarr, this is the site I go to also and out of the listed apps codediver is still my favorite as it allows you to assign differrnt plug-ins and opening macros to each app.

It also allows you to select a backgound for your apps.

Not free, but very useful.

Several treads on it alraedy.

this works great on my NX70 except for the pop up at text input bit..........

However when I perform a hotsync I get an error and then the NX resets...... if i set Default_Silk to off the problem goes away......
the hotsync finishes with no probs but it looks bad if the unit crashes and resets every time...

.. anyone had same issue??.. found resolve??

mjhamilton,

Thank you, thank you. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I was getting a reset during hotsync. I was getting ready to do a hard reset when I stumbled upon this thread. I too get a reset during hotsync if I have auto-input enabled. I'm using a NX80. Man I hate buggy apps:mad:

Although it technically works on my NX I get a fatal reset as soon the grafitti area changes a graphic. hitting a button or trying to put in letters.

I get that annoying hotsync error too. Bummer. Such a cool idea . . . but off it goes . . .
