My t665 digitizer is damaged and Sony is gonna fix it for free. Meanwhile, I have to use my Vx which is solid but a little slow and not quite equipped for large programs I've grown accustomed to on the 665. Man, what a difference! The Vx screen is a little rough on my old eyes but dependable non the less. In my experience, Sony is pretty good about their repairs and swift to return the device. I'll write a post and tell you all of how all transpires!
how did you get sony to fix it for free?

I like my Vx...I want to get a new battery for it, not sure i'd use it much, but it's so slim and solid....

TK,
I have a year warranty and I bought the t665 in Aug., '02
I too have a 665 and my previous unit was also a Vx - I think it is definitely a PDA hall-of-fame unit. Clean lines, solid construction, great battery!
I agree that going back to the lo-res, greyscale screen from the Clie is a bit like moving to an Amish community from Manhattan! :D

I have a Vx as well, and that was my first PDA. Now I have the T615, which is very nice in terms of the hires colour display, better speed and great storage.
My Vx is dying on me, it won't hold a decent charge, but the unit itself is still fully functional. I wish there's something that I can do about the battery. I tried fully charging and discharging the unit a few times, but that doesn't make any difference.
I live in Toronto (Canada), if any one know what I can do about the battery issue, please let me know. Or if you know where I can get it fix (Don't like sending it away, so a lunchtime jobby would be nice), please inform me.

I would love to have external memory for the Vx as a backup for ALL my files! Over the years, I've accumulated a lot of data and the Vx is pretty good for a backup unit. Serial hot sync is painfully slow at the highest baud rate. I really should be content that I have anything. Clie users may be ( I'll speak for myself) a little spoiled by Clie swiftness and high tech....
