This board has been an invaluable resource: I couldn't get a single salesperson to tell me why the down arrow was grayed out on the NR70V and not on the NX60/70V. But now that I know how to do it, I want to know how long it takes to do it. This will directly impact whether I decide to buy one or just get an NX70V.

If you're an experience Clie user, please identify yourself as such and tell me how long you've spent fiddling with it for this purpose. If it's taken a lot of email correspondence with Brayder, I'm interested in that too. Generally, please identify what level of technical knowledge you'd say you're at. For example, I'm a newbie to Palm but I'm good at computer stuff.

Thanks.

I assume you are talking about the swapping of the the NX core apps (address, datebook, memo, and todo) for the ones on the NR. I have owned my NR for about 8 months and I consider myself just knowledgable enough to be dangerous. As long as you have the right tools ( the NX apps, jackflash and jacksprat_nostub) it should take roughly a half hour, as long as you follow the instructions on the board. It's not that difficult, it's like following very detailed drving instructions, it doesn't make a lot of sense until you see it, then it's pretty easy. Do not even attempt without the right version of jacksprat, it will be a horrible experience.

Read the thread http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1140. It will save you some major headaches. I tried it without the right version of Jack Sprat. (I'm the 8 hour person) It took about a half hour once I read all of the instructions and had the right Jack Sprat version.
