Hello there,
I want to install the Palm desktop software that came with the NX70, but it wont install because the Palm Desktop Software that had come with my Kyocera 7135 (since been sold) was newer than my NX70 SW. It says that I need to uninstall my old SW to install this SW. If I did that I wouldn't have all of the old contact, etc. data that I plan on Syncing to my NX70.
What can I do?
Thanks

Usually, uninstalling the Palm Desktop does NOT remove your data and programs. To be on the safe side, copy the Palm desktop folders to another part of your hard drive. The latest Palm Desktop will run fine with the Sony Clie, so you can uninstall and reinstall. Just be sure you backup everything and back up your RAM to a memory stick!

I had the same problem and fixed it by exporting the data to back it up, then importing again after the new install. Just make sure to export the data in each application that you use.
One question: why'd you ditch the Kyocera 7135?
I love the NX70V, but it's so large I don't carry it everywhere I should be carrying it. I'm thinking I might give it to my wife to replace her IIIc, and get myself either a Samsung sph-i500 or a 7135. I'm in the early stages of thinking this through, though-- unclear whether I can actually pry my hands off this NX70V. :)
My wife would use it for photos and MP3's a lot more than I do.

The 71235 is clearly an excellent tool, and in some ways I regret doing it... it wasn't an easy decision. But the voice recorder would not write to the removable media. That combined with the fact that the NX70 is so much faster, and has all the other features, made me decide to carry a little case that would fit an NX70 and a small phone.
I can always sell it and buy the 7135 again if I changed my mind. Since I was an early adopter on the 7135, I didn't really loose much money in selling it, since it isn't available in ,my area (LA) yet.
