Another wierd Clie problem.. help!

Hey all. Ok, here is the deal. I have a T415, powered USB cradle plugged into a primary USB port, and Windows XP Pro. Everything works great, hot sync is good, other type of connections to my pc are good. but here is the thing.... i bought a USB/Serial Y cable for my Clie, so i could hold the unit in my hand while im connected through my PC to the internet.... it worked great for a few days, then all of a sudden i get a "usb device not recognized". So i figured i must have messed up the cable, so i got another straight Clie to USB cable. Same thing. Ive tried everything, moving it to every USB port on my pc and hub, trying different versions of Clie drivers and such, all kinds of stuff. Anyone have any suggestions? i really appreciate it... thanks in advance.

I had a synching problem yesterday (hey that sounds funny :) ) but a soft reset of my palm and a reboot of my PC solved it.

Have you tried a soft reset yet?

oh yes, i have tried it all. and for some reason, i just got it to work. dont ask me how... but it works. i dont get it. thanks for your reply though!
