View Full Version : Financial Apps for NX70V?
Hey Guys!
Just traded in my N760C for a NX70V at Best Buy because my screen was going out on it. Even exchange! :)
I was using Ultrasoft Money 2.03 on my N760C but it does not work on my NX70V. Might be because the NX70V comes with PALM OS 5.x.
Should I get the new version of Ultrasoft Money? Or would you recommend a better app to sync up with MS Money on my desktop?
Thanks!

I've checked out a number of financial programs...You can argue which is the better desktop app -- the two top contenders being Quicken and Money. IMHO though the handsdown winner for a palm companion is Ultrasoft Money (works only with MS-Money). If you were a Quicken advocate, I believe your only 2 choices would be Pocket Quicken or Splash Money, but I don't think they hold a candle to Ultrasoft Money!!! Given that you are already using MS Money, I would stick with UM!!
I'm running UM 3.3 (MS-Money 2002) on an NX-80 without any problems. Just checked the website, and they are still supporting / updating 2.x for MS-Money 98-01. UM 2.4.5 is Palm OS 5 compatable.
Hope this helps

I'm not religously trying to convert anyone over to Ultrasoft Money...It works great for me, and if it doesn't work for you that's fine...
CheckMoney looks very interesting and if I wasn't happy with what I had I would look into it...The one thing that I find inconsistent is their statement "best conduit on the market", yet it uses importing / exporting of data files???
I'll stay with the seamless conduit in UM...no importing / exporting / accepting of transactions. Just hotsync, and ALL data between desktop and clie is up to date...

Good choice, been using Ultrasoft Money for ages (since Money 2001, I think). Integration is seamless. Haven't used a paper register for at least a year now. I still do make paper backups of my Money register (as well as my Online Banking statements).
I hope you enjoy it.

As for the checkmoney, I first downloaded and tried it before buying it. I would suggest you to try it our yourself. The software download comes with the complete conduit as well.
You have to export or import QIF to/from Money and Quicken.
You can also export into CSV or import from CSV.
The best feature I like about it is the ability to exports reports to CSV, realtime balances, scheduling and simple yet powerful screen layouts. The conduit also lets me backup the whole checkMoney data into my PC. Here is the link http://www.pdachampion.com/checkMoneyPlus.htm

I have the Zodiac 2 and I am simply interested in this app in only my PDA. I do not need it to sync it with Money or Quicken. The Zodiac OS is 5.2.6 I believe. Larry, nice to see a post from you again in Cliesource. Can I download this and try it out for free?

Checkmoney does Splits!
I just purchased it. The UI looks scary (I'm a PocketQuicken user) but the ability to use splits is very important. I look forward to trying this software on my NX70.

Yes, I don't use desktop apps anymore either. programs like checkmoney and expenseplus are good enough for tracking and getting reports in my pc.
I don't use quicken anymore. I rely on checkmoney to keep tracking of my credit cards, checks and cash expenses, and then reconcile with my bank at the end of the month.
