I think the flash is a neat idea but from the looks of it there is one problem with its location. Most "micro" size camera experience major problem with red-eye effects. This is due to the flash being located right next to the lens as is the case with this NZ model. It will be interesting to see how well the flash performs.

Too bad its only a digital zoom and no optical zoom. Maybe its becoz to keep the size to a minimum otherwise ther'll be lens jotting out.

According to the specs (if I remember right) it comes with red eye correction

Yes it does.

yeah but if you read reviews on their "micro" camera at circuit city, the red eye reduction process did not alleviate the problem.

So that's where my talents in Photoshop will be put to the test :) I'm used to "fixing" my digital photos anyway; not gonna put me out.

Or just use the Paintshop program in the Clie.

I got a good idea, forget the bulky NZ camera and buy a simple NR or NX, anyway you are going to correct your photos so you can save some bucks to get a good digital camera .... :p

Own an Nx and for work purposes, the cam isn't making it. Sorry you missed all the posts about the need I have for the two items integrated so I'lll sumarize it:

Don't care if it's considered ugly.
Not elitist enough to look at it as a "brick" (especially considering we heard all that whining when the Nx came out "it's huge - it's a brick"......whatever)
Own many digicams. Tired of lugging the two things around.

Thanks for the "idea" though just the same.

If you are looking for a real good but small camera, get the Casio Exslim, or the Minolta Dimage X, both really pocketsize, and under $300, and very good cameras

dpreview.com gave the Dimage a below average rating, & Steve's Digicams liked the Exilim. I picked up the Sony U20 for pictures in favor of my NR70V, although the Clie camera comes in handy if I forget the U20. Of course, they came out with new colors after I've had mine for a month (I like the black one!) :(

I don't think I would be using too much flashing anyway to conserve battery life.

The new Dimage XI from my point of view beats all other(I'm using it). Therefore, you'll get a very biased opinion from me. IT's 3.2 megapixels,3 X Optical zoom, uses SD/MMC, Lithium Ion battery(good gor about 500 snaps with flash with LCD on. And of course, the sexy slim figure.

Also notice that unlike the previous NR and NX models, you would now be UNable to take a photo of yourself with the Clie in tablet mode (screen facing you). The whole camera unit (lens & flash) rotates with the opening of the screen, and in tablet mode, the camera points outward with no option of rotating it towards your self. (unlike NR and NX)
