For Christmas I got a Sony Clie SJ30, and everything was going great. But alas, being the klutz I am, I tripped over the cord hooking up to the wall that I use to charge my PDA. It wasn't hooked up to my Clie (thank god!) but it was tangled in my computer chair and I ended up breaking the little black thing that hooks to the bottom of the PDA, that serves as a sort of port letting me hook up my Clie to my computer, and also letting me charge it. Now I don't know what to do! It's broken, and I was going to buy another piece, but I can't find one! I really need one before my battery life runs out (31% currently *looks fearfull) but I doubt that'll happen.
If anyone can help me I'll love ya forever! I hope someone knows what I'm talking about (I'm not sure what it's called -.-) and that they know where to find one.
If you do don't hesitate! I'll take anything you throw my way!

First off, you should register in the forum...you'll get more help than posting as "unregisterd."
Second, you're talking about the sync/charging cable, and you can get these at any local computer-type stores that carry the Sony Clies. That's the cheapest route to go. You can also buy a cradle to use instead of the cord, and the cradle will attach the ac adapter the SJ30 comes with. That's $30 if it's Sony. You can also get the portable charger that holds 4 AA batteries and provides cord-free charging, but the Sony unit for that is $40 (you can get these off eBay for about $10), but those are usually mail order, so that won't help! Other option is to go to a local computer store and buy a travel charging cable and use your car to recharge. The plug at the base of the SJ30 is the T-series plug, so accessories/cables for the T-series should work with it.
Don't know how badly you broke it, and that plug is kinda fragile, but you have to have a cord or cradle to charge it up. There is no other alternative.

Just strap your Clie to the plug with rubber band. All the hooks do are just to insure the pins make good contact.

To get an official Sony replacement, it looks to me like you'll need to buy either the AC Power adapter (PEGA-AC10) or the Hotsync lead (PEGA-HS10). These will give you the cable (which you haven't damaged) and the black plug which you need.
Both are readily available, for example they're on Amazon.co.uk (but the part numbers are written as PEG-AAC10 and PEG-AHS10), but not exactly cheap.
I would suggest you look at a replacement charge/sync cable, which simply plugs into your PC's USB port and charges the Clie from the PC's power. You'll need to have the PC powered on to charge, but that's not a big problem.
For travelling, the best I've found is the Minisync from Boxwave (www.boxwave.com). However, plenty are available - do a Google search for 'charge sync cable sj30' will find loads.
You may be able to get something from a local shop, but you may end up having to order from a web site with a fast delivery - without knowing where you are I can't help further.
In the meantime, do a hotsync and then leave the Clie turned off! It will probably hold charge and keep your data for a good few days if left powered off.
