I had installed WebProV onto the MS of my NX70V but I could not get it to work. Everytime I tried to launch a page, eg the default homepage www.palm.com/webbrowserpro (http://www.palm.com/webbrowserpro), it will display the following error message after awhile.
"Communications error. Please check coverage, check that the Host Address in Preferences is correct, and try again."
I was connecting it using my mobile phone via IR, the connection was established. I had checked that the Host address was webpro.palm.com. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Please help me!
By the way, what is the latest version of ZLauncher and where can I get it? I am thinking of using NetFront3 if Webpro does not work for me :(

you are connected, but you are not connected to the internet. change the host address to somthing like http://pdaportal.us
install webpro to ram, not the ms.

The latest version of ZL is v3.50.1 final. The latest version 1.1.36 of NetFront is on Sony's Support site. There is a ROM copy of the NX73/80 floating around, but you need to have NetFront installed first anyway. The ROM copy does not have the install file.
I am surprised though, WebProV was pretty much a no-brainer??
Are you sure you are really connected?

Yes, of course I am 100% sure that I was connected. Are the handshake and the message "connection established" appearing on the clie enough to convince you that you are indeed connected?

the connection established does not mean you are connected to the internet. it means you are connected to the browser from your modem. try changing the home name. you typically do not have to change any of the settings of webpro at all to get an internet connection. it sounds to me like your modem/connection or phone setting is not correct. for example, what speed do you have it set to?

I don't think the speed will affect it.
As I chose to connect IR speed at 115kbps but the actual modem connected speed is 9.6kbps and yet it still can work.

yttan - you are right. my point, is, there were no setting indicated, and the assumption that an internet connection was made. but speed does affect the cf modem settings. by the way, i'm not singaporean but expat; live in ulu pandan area. i really like singapore.

I had used the same phone/clie settings and it worked well with NetFront. The reason I gave up on NetFront is due to the massive amount of space it takes up.
What host address can I use?
