The NX80 is my fourth Sony Clie. I owned the N760, NR70/u, NR70/v and now the NX80. I almost went a different route before this last purchase because I really need a new cell phone also. When I could'nt find a decent pda/phone that had all the amazing shizzle a Clie did, I found myself once again buying the newest Clie. I would have picked up the NZ but the bulky size just makes it hideous.
Things I have done with this bad boy!
1. I still prefer the use of my Yishow launcher, the hi res is great and I like to set my own background. Although if I get bored with it I also have the "Icewind" clie launcher and it looks sweet!! You can purchase it at www.handago.com (http://www.yahoo.com) .
2. You can have a blast with some of the built in features. I am having some fun finding 80's midi. files and using my sound converter to play name that tune with some friends.
3. The games are of such great brilliant color. I higly reccomend going to http://www.astraware.com to find the best made games anywhere as well as the most attractive.
4. I prefer to use palm reader pro for my book reading. I just purchased a fully illustrated book from http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com and palm reader pro also enables you to change your text and background color as well as change fonts.
5.There are great freeware apps. that i consider essential.
handyshopper and checkbook are very helpful as well as free and take advantage of your color with a list of free icons.
For you Clie Pro's out there, I have a couple questions.
1. I downloaded the same Kinoma player I had on my NR70 and when I downloaded some Audioslave videos my Clie told me that video was supported but not sound. I used my Kinoma producer and used the Clie' stereo sound and it didn't work for me. Is there a newer version or do i need to choose a new setting?
2. I would love to watch a movie rather than music videos and cartoons on my handheld. What is the easist way to do this and still get the most quality and take up the least space?
3. Is anyone going to work on Audio skins for this NX80? I miss the different options on my NR70.
4. And to Sony, how long till you give us a Sony Clie' with a phone? If you could do that I believe I would sell off all my possessions because everything i would ever need would be in my pocket.
Peace in the middle East,
Russell
