Ordered a Grey case NX70 on Saturday from them - $537.00.....got an email saying order received. Now it's Wednesday, order status is still 'not shipped' [they said they had four when I ordered], tried calling them repeatedly Monday and Tuesday and their 800 number is either busy or a recording that says it's out of service. Tried an email on Monday to them but no reply. Should I start worrying?

I never heard of them, I wouldn't wait too long to stop payment though, if you get no response from them.

Go here:

http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_getreview.php/retid=616/ut=0ce1f4297cf28f6c

Some not too good reviews in there!

If you used your credit card, I would call them and cancel/dispute if it's been charged.

I bought an NX60 from TechSavings a month or so ago. I was kind of annoyed that they billed my credit card three days before they shipped. It took them about a week longer to ship than I would have expected (probably because I didn't pay for expedited shipping) but it did come. Actually, they sent me *two* NX-60s by mistake. At least they were consistent, they didn't seem to be in any more hurry to get the extra back then they were to get it to me in the first place :-)

Thanks for all of your feedback relating to my dilemma ... (I'm the one that started this thread as 'unregistered') when I checked last evening on the techsavings website, it still had not shipped. Checked availability and they said they had none (4 when I ordered, but understand that this should be taken with a grain of salt).
They still are unreachable via phone. When last I tried they had a message saying they were upgrading thier phone system and to communicate via email - which I had attempted with no luck.
So.....sent them a cancellation email, called credit card company and opened up a dispute, and ordered a fresh NX70v/uh from Amazon. Know of multiple other sites where it's cheaper, but after this experience I sought the warm arms of a known entity.
Will hopefully have my NX by next Wednesday.

Cancel you existing order with C/C company and then Check out Cliespecialist on E-bay.

I got a Gey one with a leather case for $517, A silver one with case for $502 and both were delivered from USA to the UK in just 2 days. He sells hundreds and his prices are excellent. Excellent guy to deal with as well.

I've had similar experiences with them. I actually did buy my NX70 from them because of the price (beat the closest competition by fifty dollars) AFter placing the order, the website never indicated that the unit had shipped until I actually took delivery. Calls were fruitless. The phone is perpetually busy. The service sucks, but their prices are great. You just have to be patient. The item will show up. Just don't expect them to be of any help after taking your money.

Just my luck - my NX70 from Amazon.com is due to arrive tomorrow and in this mornings newspaper I see that CompUsa is selling the NX70 for $549....I paid $599. However, I'm smitten by the grey gunmetal case and doubt if they carry them. Had a bit of trouble even locating NX's with this case.

I heard there was a massive shortage of Grey NX70V's - the suppliers should have warned you about the potential long leads times before taking your money!

Sony have stopped making Grey Clies, they were a strictly Limited Edition, so if they have not got stock they won't get any. Sony doesn't have any to sell ........... They should have told you this .....

There are a very few people with stock and that IS very limited to "when stocks run out" and they may have 10 left.

Hmmm.............understand that the availability of grey/gunmetal is dicey, but if I ordered it and the invoice (from Amazon) says 'Sony Clie PEG-NX70V/U (Metallic Grey) Handheld', should I be concerned that I will be receiving a silver case?

I think your chances are fairly good for getting a gunmetal. I just checked amazon and since they have the silver and metallic grey as two different items, you should be safe. Cross your fingers. Just make sure that when you get your package, look for the sticker on the box that says "H Gray/Gris". That's the gunmetal. Other than that, the boxes they come in are identical.

I'm tempted by this. Silver is now $535. How much did you pay for delivery? He's asking $49 for international delivery. What did you use for payment?

Also, what happened with customs? Did you get stung?
