I looked everywhere and found out that there is no remote with the UX-50. Is it true or is there any other solutions?

What's the point in having a remote on a handheld computer the size of a remote? :P

This has been a real big deal over in the ipaq camp. The new ipaq 5555 did not come with Nevo, the remote control application included in earlier ipaq's. To make things even "worse" the upgrade to the new pocket pc operating system, it has be rumored, erases the copy of Nevo in machines that already have it installed. Some people are swearing not to get the machine because this feature is missing and others are even talking of a class action suit. Its on my machine and I don't use it but to some people its an inportant software for them to have. There should be some other remote control app for the clie if the sony one is not included. I am sure clie's are not the only machines that can function as remote controls.
are u talking about a remote control for music
or remote control as in the software?

Actually it doesn't have either! You don't need the remote to hear tunes and if your talking about a TV clicker, well I already have dozens of those. I can just image falling asleep in front of the TV and dropping the Clie. I use a super duper remote anyway that the Clie can't even compare too. Anyhow, fingerprints are verboten on my screen ;)!

I think he means the inline remote. I have a TG50 and get by without the remote. I also have an iPod and don't use the included remote simply because it is a ridiculous length for headphones to be when the remote is plugged in.

I was talking about the remote control for TV and etc. Does the device come with a consumer IR?

It doesn't have the IR the NX and other Clie's have. It has the standard weak IR that all Palm handhelds have and won't be much use as a remote control.
Considering its a $700 device, Sony removing features really bugs me. I like the design, but don't want to give up the Clie Remote Commander ability or the inline music remote which I use everyday at work.
The UX has neither of these.
