I live in Greece. We have here every Palm, Handspring or Pocket PC branded handheld. We also have every Sony product except (guess what) the Clies! I wanted a Clie so I bought a T625C from expansys.com, knowing that I wouldn' t have any support. But I own many Sony devices (like TVs, VCRs etc) and I never experienced any kind of problem after some 10 years or more with them. So I went for it.
I have it for exactly 1 year. No problem at all (in contrast with PalmVx I used the former 2 years). It is esential for my everyday work and entairtainment. Suddenly I could not Hotsync 4 days ago (connection could not be established). Shortly afterwards I noticed that it would not charge every time from USB cable or the travel charger I bought a year ago. Shortly afterwards I noticed that it would not charge at all (except from cradle). Shortly afterwards I noticed that it would not act like a mounted drive also (I used this way to backup the first 2 days of the problem, but now it won' t work "unknown USB device" and some times not even that). The only thing it can do is charge through the original cradle (but not hotsync) and IR exchange files. I am horrified. What if it stops charging from the cradle in a couple of days? It will die! Yet if it doesn't this is not enough for me, cause I am very mobile and very heavy user.
Yes I tried with 3 different PCs. Yes I tried with 3 different cables (original, USB sync/charge and travel charger). Yes I cleaned the golden pins. Yes I uninstalled and installed the software 6 times. Yes I tried every possible setup. Yes Sony has no support (there isn' t even an email to complain). No I cannot send it abroad and take it back (probably unfixed) after a month or so. Yes I will buy a new one in a couple of months (NX80V) but my wife is waiting to use it (she has the Vx with all the problems). Yes 500 or 600 Euros are a lot of money for Europe but almost double for Greece (according to our payments here wich are less than yours 2-3 times).
Please help me! I know something about an USB fix for the NR series. Is that the same problem? Will it work here? It looks like the pins don' match each other the way they should but I cleaned them and they look allright. What should I do?

Thanks for your patience
