I need to get a couple of these ...

What's the best stylus that actually fits in the NX70V ?
If it has a pen, it would be even better ... ;)

I apologize if this question was already asked...

Thanks!

I believe the only one that fits inside are the ones from Sony.

However, you can buy lots of pens that fit in your pocket that also have a stylus.

PDA Panache also has a nice on, but no pen.

I have the PDA pannache. It is slightly heavier than the stock stylus and the tip is soooooo much nicer.

http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/image.php?productid=17You might want to take a look at the Innopocket metal stylus:

http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=17&cat=15&page=1

It sells for $16 and comes in 2 per pack (matte and gloss). I've been using mine for about 5 months now.

Does that Innopocket metal stylus fit in the NX70V without any problems?

Yes, the Innopocket Stylus fits well in the NX. But this stylus is a bit heavier than the original stylus. The tip is fine. I like it.

Can you use the Innopocket Stylus to reset with the writing tip on the NX as you can with the stock stylus, or is the tip too wide on the Innopocket?

As for the original post about a stylus with a pen, I purchased the pen stylus from Brando's web site for the NX and was extremely disappointed. The top kept feeling like it was going to fall of, and the pen was almost impossible to use because it was so short and thin.

The tip of the innopoket stylus does NOT fit into the reset hole, but you can unscrew the top to set free a nice reset pin.
By the way, the tip of my original sony pen does not fit into the reset hole either....

I'm using a stylus that fits in the NX70/V and has a built in pen, but I can't remember where I got it!. There is one out there though.

This was true on the NR, but I'm using the stock stylus writing tip to reset the NX just fine. You can't just set it in the hole, you give it a little push at the end, but I thought the NX was designed for that. It didn't work on the NR; I don't care how hard you pushed. The hole was just too small.

I used to have a Pilot Pentopia stylus for my Palm IIIxe that has a floating tip. Are there any styli for the NX series that have a floating tip? I'm missing my Pentopia something awful!

And, for those who have use styli with floating tips in the past and who now use the Innopocket or PDA pannache sylus, how do they compare??

I purchased the matte, and chrome stylus from innopoket .
I like the weight, feel and look.
BUT I find that the stylus slides up tight, and I am worried that if I ever return to the Sony stock one the shaft will be slightly enlarged...
Does anyone else have this or feel concerned???

I have the innopocket stylus and the tip can't be used to reset your NX. I have another stylus from Brando and I can use the sharp tip to reset without unscrewing the tip out.

Both innopocket and brando came with Pen. I am still figuring how to get the pen out as claim by brando. The top side of brando's stylus is abit loose but won't come off.

I am using the Panache deluxe stylus and it is wonderful! It is NOT a bit heavier than the stock, it is a lot heavier. It fits nicely in the NX and your hand. The tip, as other say, is great! Highly recommned!

I saw your post in the other thread, traced it here....
I bought a "nail" pointer for my PalmIIIc a while back. The nail had some real mass to it compared to the plastic pointer that came with the Palm. Anyway, it had so much mass that it didn't take much bumping around for the nail to crack the Palm in the area the pointer is housed. Then it would just fall out 'cause there was no longer a snap fit, let alone a friction fit. I was really annoyed and felt stupid for trying to use anything but OEM accessories. Now my NX is metal, but still has some plastic in it. Should I be concerned about replacing the lighter pointer with something heavier or bigger?

bucalo, I had the same problem with a PDA Panache nail on a Palm Pilot Pro . . . now I use old Palm styli (from original Palm Pilot, Palm Pilot Pro, etc.). Somehow I ended up with a bunch of them, so I've put them all over the house/office, and they fit in the the BodyGlove case I use - I keep the Sony one in the unit as an "emergency spare" but never use it

I'm not thrilled with the stylus that came with the NX. I'm a lefty, and the angle that I hold it at for graffiti there seems to be some scratching (where the little tip sort of widens out). I have a screen protector on... but I want something that has a smoother feel.

I would love to hear additional comments on the Innopocket and Panache, particularly regarding fit into the stylus housing on the NX70, whether they will "stretch" the housing, etc.

Also, I know where to get the innopocket stylus, but how about the Panache? I see them on Amazon, but not for the NX. Thanks!

The default NX stylus pen fits perfectly into the reset hole (used for soft/hard resets). However DO NOT use the tip! For those of you who have your manual handy turn to page 52. You will see that your supposed to unscrew the back of the stylus (the white part that's not on the tip side). After unscrewing it your supposed to use that little tiny tip to reset. Hope this helps...

Also, if it's any conselation I saw a pack of 3 pack of sony stylus's by sony; unfortunately the only difference was the color.... I personally use a seperate stylus which is heavier, but is also a red & black pen, plus a mechanical pencil.. It's just a huge thing, but comes in handy at the desk, plus if I'm carrying a pen around I always try to make it this one...

I have the heavy PDA Panache and the Brando soft tip ones. Both have their pluses and minus'. They both fit the NX, but I have the PDA Panache in the NX and the Brando sitting on the desktop charger. The PDA Panache one would be perfect if it was a floating stylus (had a spring) like the Brando one. The Brando's tip is better but the stylus is too light. Therefore, I have both.

The nice thing about the Brando, like most PocketPC styli is that you can use the tip to reset the device.

Oh and I forgot to mention, neither of them has scratched my display yet, unlike the Sony ones which always do.

Where is the best/easiest place to get the panache? I see them on Amazon (well, actually the are out of stock there), but I don't see any Clie versions. Does one of the others fit? Is PDApanache.com the best place to order from? Has anyone else had concerns about either of these "stretching" the stylus housing?

Thanks for the feedback!

I just ordered a 3-in-1 stylus from brando last week and am awaiting its arrival. I'll let you know my opinion once it arrives.

I'm still waiting for the Mont Blanc version, it seems unfair that at the moment they only produce a stylus for the Palm and not the Sony PDA.

The PDA Panache and Brando Styli do not "stretch" the housing.

I ordered my Panache stylus from PDAPanache.com.

In the end, I probably use my Brando 3-in-1 stylus the most, just cause it's laying out. Also, if I'm using my clie on the subway, I'd rather have a "floating stylus" than a fixed one in case the train stops abruptly, thus scratching the screen.

Since there have been a couple of stylus issues posted lately, I thought I would bump this for additional opinions. I'm being a slacker and still haven't ordered a new stylus, just keep hating the one I have! Maybe today...
