Keyboard for NX70V

Here is a good working keyboard for NX70V and up. IRKB5 @ www.pocketirkeyboard.com I got mine a few days ago and it's perfect.

How long do the button cell batteries last on these things? Does one travel with a supply?

I don't get how IR keyboards work... the receiver on the NX70V is at the top... ?! Does wireless mean that you can work at a distance from the PDA, or is it still connected? And if still connected, is there any advantage then for a wireless keyboard over a normal one?! :S
