I thought that this was the PERFECT PDA until I read that there is no serial connector and, correspondingly, there will be no external keyboard available.  How did Sony think that they would market this as a business PDA without supporting an external keyboard?  How dense can the product development people be?  Sony, you're KILLING ME HERE!!!!

Wouldn't the infrared keyboards that are out there still work?  All they would need is a driver, and presto, a wireless full size keyboard.  Or, what about a bluetooth keyboard?  Obviously the infrared is a more streamlined approach, since they actually exist as a viable product right now, and there are no bluetooth keyboards for PDA's.

Why do we NEED a serial connection though?

Food for thought.

For people who have been typing for decades and can do so at 50 wpm, ANY thumboard, no matter what its size, is NOT good for continued input. For anything longer than a couple sentence and I reach for my keyboard now. If the UX series is Keyboard incompatible the NO SALE signs go up for me -- BIG TIME.

There haven't been OS5 drivers to date for the existing IR keyboards, and the existing 4.x drivers are terrible. Why would I expect that a suitable OS5 driver would be released any time soon?

There are several models on the market now with OS5 drivers and some say they work pretty good.

Here is one, but there are others...
