Sounds really cool.

Yeah, 320x320 with only a thumboard? Though OS5 (?) and BT would be cool, I think I'm glad I just got a T665.

Getting rid of the graphiti and replacing it with a keyboard? Didn't they learn anything from Handspring?!? Didn't they learn anything from the popularity of the NR and NX? Give us the virtual Graphiti!!!
That's my take on it anyway.

Yea.. this looks like a Treo to me. The buttons right under the screen would make it perfect for games though.
I don't know, I want a small form factor and bluetooth so bad... and I've been using GraffitiAnywhere on my NX, so I actually prefer writting directly on the screen. But I just don't know if I could go back to a square screen again.
Of course, who knows. I may see the thing and fall in love with it instantly. If the keyboard is better than the NR/NX (along the lines of the Zaurus) then it may be a blessing. I still want my 320x480 though.

How can you get ahold of these FCC papers? They are public right? I'm just currious because I always see how sites get information from them. Are these documents something we can get a hold of?

Back when I was at visorcentral, someone posted a link to the FCC page about the Treo. So I believe it is possible to access them online. They are public domain once the FCC releases them. However, they may be withdrawn and re-released at a later date if Sony didn't want them to be seen which would be within the realm of the way Sony reacts about leaks.

I'm really surprised that this thread hasn't exploded. Is it because everyone is dissapointed that the TG50 isn't HiRes+?
My hope is that maybe we will see a TG50 and a TG60. Or maybe a TX60, a model with 320x480. I really doubt it, but I have to hold on to some amount of hope right?
I know from watching the Treo information get leaked that once Sony gets approval from the FCC for the TG50 they can release models based on that unit that still have bluetooth without having to get the new models approved again.

The usual documents aren't on the FCC site. Though I've ever seen this happen before, the FCC has a small note on its site that says, "Exhibits filed in accordance with 47CFR 0.457(d) are not available. " I guess Sony filed in such a way that the documents aren't public.
Clearly, someone from PC World got a hold of them, though. Did anyone else?

uggg..... keypad and no graffiti.. i'll stick w/ my 665 for now... all they had to do is give us Virtual Graphitti... and no thumb board.. then i'd buy the device with all other specs the same...

Guess its time to get another T665 as a spare since it sounds like Sony goofed again. First it was the NZ90 and now this stupid keyboard design. Listen Sony we want the T665 with a virtual graphitti area and blue tooth.

VG and Bluetooth will drain the battery even quicker. I hope they will use the same battery from the SJ33.

Wow, I'm really dissapointed now. First it's the NX with a compact flash sticking out. Then the beast NZ, laptop/pda hybrid. And now this keyboard thing without virtual graffiti. I was hoping like everyone else, a T665 form factor with os5 and virtual graffiti. Guess I'm keeping my T665 for now and upgrade to a Tungsten later then, that's too bad....

I thought when I went from a Visor Prism to a t615 that Sony listened to what the customer wanted alot better.... I thought the 615 was great, it had a lot of the things I had wanted on the Prism. The new pda's from Sony have got me worried.. when I am ready to upgrade will they have something that was as good as the 615 was to me. I am afraid that if I were to buy a new one now I would get the 665 instead of these newer ones...
Hello!!!!!!!! Is anyone at Sony Listening????

Sony is most likely doing this model to comply with the lame-a** lawsuit filed against Palm for their Graffiti input system. Don't jump to conclusion folks. How do we know the keyboard isn't hinged to swing open to show an input area? Okay I'm grabbing at straws. I do hope Sony comes out with an OS5 T series model with Virtual Graffiti (2). If they did, then I'd switch from my SJ30 to it in a heartbeat. Otherwise I'll stick with my ol' SJ30.
Not necessarilly WYSIWYG!
I wouldn't take this FCC application as the product data sheet! As was mentioned above- it could only be a red-herring mock-up in order to get the integrated blue tooth approved, but the actual finished/market ready unit could differ!
(Think car companies and the fake fenders they put on new models while they are test driving the vehicle for engine/transmission/supsension performance.) ;)

First impressions count a lot. So I think Sony would risk getting bad reviews early on. What we've read is most probably what will come out.
Hey Sony, what happened to you guys after the T665?!!?!? Listen more closely to your clients!
And pleeeez, get more competent after-sales-support people on your team. Some even act as if they don't know the products they are supposed to assist us with!
stay cool, dudes!

Maybe we should all defect and get a IQue 3600 from Garmin. It seems to have what we are all asking for plus a bit more!

This is what I'm thinking. Even if the TG50 isn't fake, maybe it's only one of two new T series coming out. Maybe a TG70 would have Hires+...

Same thinking with OcellNuri. So hold on tighs fellows, the spec that was stated in many websites are mere speculations. When Sony official launch the product, we would learn more and make a rational decision. If, and this is a Big IF, the spec is in accordance to the rumour, I would either get a NZ or stick with my T665C.
