download this file, put it on your clie and run it!

http://jibjub.com/clie/fpstest2.swf

choose a quality to test and click start.
let the fps stabalize for about 30 seconds (until it stops changing) then come back here and post your clie model and your fps score!

I'll post the speed of my UX50 when it arives next month.

NX70v
Always 10 fps whether overclocked to 300 underclocked to 100 or left at 200.
Changing to medium quality causes it jump down to 9.
Changing it low quality brings it back to 10.
I don't see how this is an accurate representation of my devices fps.

fps of swf. doesn't matter if its acurate I just want to see results from a single test that works on all (if not most) OS 5 palms as I want to make swf games (http://homepage.mac.com/sonicboy/games.html) for the palm.

NX70v with 10fps you say, interesting with the overclocking, did you over clock and then run it again? or overclock it while it was running?
if you change the quality AFTER running it it will screw up, the quality needs to be set before it calculates so best not to change it for the moment. yes low quality will improve fps and most of the flash I see switches quality when using motion of some sort, including the "clie demo" which is just an swf file.

Well I overclocked then reran it.
I used Lightspeed to specifically target the flash player app
and I used the pxaclocker app which overclocks the whole thing.

OK, here is a new version.. choose the qulity you want to test and then click start:

you should in theory get a better FPS with low and medium quality.

I don't know about PXAClocker, but I remember the developer of Lightspeed said that currently you can't actually change the speed of Flash Player since it was showing a lot of irregularities when over and under clocking.

but most people wont be overclocking their palms correct?
I am just thinking of porting my free flash games to palm (pretty much the size, both viewing and file) but with all games (that I make) fps is the most important part.

thanks for all your help anyway.. 10fps would be playable I guess.. hmmmm

tg50 - pxa255 NOT overclocked:
best quality 10 fps
medium 14 fps
low 17 fps

upd: overclocking with pxaclocker 1.5b at 398mhz would not show any improvement in flash player.
