If you go to www.clieplanet.com you'll see that Shaun has switched to the lame Tungston T. I personally, can't believe this...

What do YOU guys and gals think about this?

Well, no, he actually didn't. If you read the second paragraph you'll find that he took his NZ off of eBay and put the TT on instead... so he's selling the Tungsten and keeping the Clie after all. I tend to read all of his posts very carefully these days.

Cheers.

I guess that after so many got fooled with the design contest entry, you really should read very carefully! But hey, it keeps us talking about Clie Planet. right?

Hah, don't I feel stupid...

I'm glad he stayed afterall!

Don't feel stupid, he's just tricky!

Yeah, he is tricky. I almost crapped my pants when I saw that T-665C replacement with the virtual graffiti. I thought it was real!

LOL!! Well, that's one way to put it!

Is Tungsten T really that lame? I don't think so guys. I bought the TT and I still use my T665. Both have pluses and minuses.

He really liked the TT but when he realised that he'd be missing the better screen and will now have to buy an mp3 player and a digital camera he decided to stick with the NX.

When Clie Planet started showing entries for their contest, there was a picture of one at the top of their page that looked real, but was too good to be true. The article underneath it described the amazing features of this "Clie", only mentioning at the very end that it was a contest entry, not a real model. I saw several threads here where people were either extremely excited or had questions about its relsease date, price, etc. These people didn't read through the entire thing, and it was pretty funny reading their reactions.

...and why would that be

The whole point of the site lately is to get people to look at the site.

- The sophomoric kitten ad, followed by the "controversy" over the ad (zzzzzzz).
- The contest where you simply add all known PC features to a Clie, increase all the performance numbers by 10, and make the thing tiny. Gee, I wonder if PDA manufacturers know that people want all possible features, infinite performance and miniscule size. Ya think they might?
- We really need to know everyone's opinion on every political issue.
- And now, oooohhh - will he switch from Clie to another PDA - I'm on the edge of my seat.

When all that self-importance is not going on, the rest of the "news" is identical to PalmGear's lame "Updates" page. In both cases, anyone can release any piece of hardware or software and it is listed. This week, there was even one where he actually stated he didn't know what the program did! Silly me for thinking that the point of such a site is to have someone try the products...

Well, EXCUSE ME for living!..and enjoying this website!

Complaints! Complaints! Complaints!

I don't tend to listen to complaints anymore- as the guy above said I'm far too self important:)

If someone does not like the site I'm sure it will continue without their hits- the fact that the site is starting to mention other things such as the ad is for humour and to create general discussion. If you want to read about PDAs and nothing else then you will need to go elsewhere- very few of us are completely obsessed by PDAs and recognise that people have views on other subjects.

If you have no other views and only care about your PDA then it may be best to seek help from a professional:(

Well, EXCUSE ME for living!..and enjoying this website!

Please feel free to enjoy whatever you like !

And the site is very well designed.

If you want to read about PDAs and nothing else then you will need to go elsewhere.

Like almost everyone else, I read a variety of different sites.

However, I object to the modern trend whereby anyone who is successful at being in the public eye, feels that they are suddenly qualified to speak on any other subject. The best examples are actors who feel that because they happen to end up in a big blockbuster, that this makes their opinion more worthwhile of being heard than everyone else's opinion...

By the way, a perfect example of what I am talking about is that the new "January 31st" version of CliePlanet has yet another story and picture of a fantasy Clie (uh, too bad that there is no room for a battery!), but no story and picture of the actual Clie news, ie the new Clie model, the PEG-TG50

(see http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,109096,00.asp ).

I visit CliePlanet every day to get the latest CLIE software roundup, and sync it in HandStory to my T665C to take with me. Shaun worked hard to make a classy site that has lots of useful information. I, for one, appreciate his extensive efforts at his own expense.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but it is far easier to criticize people who work hard than to actually do the work ourselves. FWIW.

And you are? ......

Oh that's right, just like everyone else. A PDA user with an opinion. I enjoy reading what others have to say, and certainly don't weigh them any different than I would your statements.

Hey Shaun you can count this as a contest entry. I think CliePlanet needs a place where people can whine (without criticism) about anything the want to. You could call it Pet Peeves or something like that.

For example: I hate it when people are looking at an object "like a Clie" and refer to it by the wrong name. "Cliche" Can't they read? It spells it out right there on the cover. C-L-I-E.

"However, I object to the modern trend whereby anyone who is successful at being in the public eye, feels that they are suddenly qualified to speak on any other subject."

Not true- the subject of the Tungsten was brought up because I felt that Sony was heading the wrong way with the NZ etc, and it's always good to look around. If someone made a much better PDA than a Clie tomorrow at the right price I for one would move over and would not stick with the Clie for sentimental reasons.

Re Iraq that was brought up to ask people what their opinions were and it caused quite a debate on the forum- personally this subject is much more important to me than PDA news at the moment.

The dream Clie contest was only one section of the 1st birthday competition and took off with some brilliant entries- too good not to publish (the amount of work people have put in deserves some recognitiion).

We are all qualified to speak on any subject as an individual's opinion will always be correct- that's how they feel after all.

Finally- thanks for pointing out all of the parts you see as incorrect- nice to know you visit so much and have noted it all down:)

As far as I am concerned, I like Susan Sarandon on screen and off screen, and although I do not particularly like Sean Penn on screen, I have recently liked what he has said/done off screen. I am prepared to listen to anyone's opinion regardless of the job he or she does.

OMG!!! Just joking around and talking litely is not allowed anymore! This thread was, IMO, enjoyable about how funny Clie Planet was in trying to "trick" people. Now everybody wants a debate! This is getting way to serious for me! And, BTW, this has gone way too off topic! Man, another thread RUINED! Thanks for ruining it for me! Not that these subjects can't be discussed, but why don't you start a new thread?
