View Full Version : I Love My NR70V!!!!!!

Stupid thread maybe, but I was just using my NR and realized how much I really love this machine. I was playing with a freind's TT today and it is very cool, I think partially because it was a new machine in my hands. It sort of had the same feel as my old m505 that I always really liked, but you could extend the device. Very cool. Then I started to play with my NR again and realized how much more I like my device. The color screen is incredible and the overall size and form is exactly what I could want. This thing rocks!!!!! I know there are alot of threads about the new NZ, but I just wanted to share my current satisfaction with my NR. ;)
I absolutely agree. I've gone back and forth betweem ppc's and Clie's...I had a 615C, and an nx70, but I keep coming back to my NR70V, it just integrates perfectly with my life. I got all the right software on it, the size suits me perfectly, and it's classy. It's the one pda I've owned that just works.

NR70v is quite nice, the low camera resolution is a tad annoying, but hey, it's a great pda, and i don't see any other pda's that are perfect anyways.

Good Evening-
I too am a proud and satisfied NR70v owner. Since I wasn't looking for a camera on my PDA, the addition of one, albeit low-res, is simply a very neat bonus. I use the keyboard rarely, and I am a writer, but it is also a nice bonus. Despite others comments, I love the clamshell design. It has kept me from buying case after case (sorry Brando:)). It is slim, cool to the touch, and cool to other's eyes. Yes it is about a half inch too long. A small sacrifice. And I am not having any OS5-Envy. Until a new OS arrives that makes quantum leaps over 4.1, I will be quite happy with 4.1 and my hundreds and thousands of applications available. I love virtual graffitti and will not even consider a new device without it. I love the integrated mp3 abilities. I wish SONY would import a USA friendly Blutooth MemStick. That would also be a bonus though, as I don't even know what the hell I would use it for:). For my uses, the NR70v is brilliant. I did have the MS issue with my initial NR70 (not v). But using my CompUSA warranty, I traded-up (completely legitimately, so bugger off with any snide remarks) to an NR70v and have not had one single MS issue. It never ceases to impress innocent bystanders and I personally am impressed as well. It is the best Palm OS device to date, in my opinion.

P.S. If CLIE's keep getting bigger (NZ) or continue their sideward progress (SJ33, what is new here?) and keep getting more expensive, I may eventually be swayed by the Dark Side (PPC). Their prices are falling, software is becoming more plentiful, and they are getting smaller (New HP 9910 or whatever it's called is a nice device and the ViewSonic ain't half bad).
MEMO TO SONY: LOOK AT CLIEPLANET'S MOST RECENT CONTEST...FARM SOME OF THOSE IDEAS...THESE ARE THE IDEAS OF PROBABLE CONSUMERS OF YOUR GOODS...THINK BIG, BUILD SMALL...I DON'T NEED A HI-8 CAMCORDER IN MY PDAMNA...I DON'T NEED A TV TUNER EITHER, SINCE NETWORK TV IS MUSKRAT PIZZLE ANYWAY...I DON'T NEED A FINGERPRINT RECOGNIZER OR DNA READER EITHER, AS THIS PUPPY LIVES IN MY POCKET...I MEAN THE BATTERY LIFE IS STARTING TO GET PITIFUL...WHEN YOU ADD THE EAGER ANITICIPATED 500,000 WATT STUN GUN FEATURE TO THE NEW NZzz (SORRY, I FELL ASLEEP) I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO ATTACH A 12-VOLT DRY CELL FROM AUTOZONE JUST TO GET A DAY'S WORTH OF USE OUT OF IT...GET BACK TO YOUR STRONG POINTS...SCREENS, BEAUTIFUL & INNOVATIVE DESIGNS (THAT ARE SMALLER THAN A BUICK), AND SOLID SPECIFICATIONS...THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT. --This was a Public Service Announcement from KCB (Keep CLIE's Beautiful) who reminds you, "We are building a Village, one NZ brick at a time."

NR70V is the one for me after owning many others, including a Pocket PC IPAQ 3675. I totally agree with comments in this thread, especially the one that pointed out that the NR70V is a PDA that just works and is right for me. It's sitting here in front of me now in clam shell mode in the cradle and it's beautiful.

I couldn't agree more! I started with a Palm Pilot with a pretty small serial number, moved to a Vx with the stainless case (I DEARLY loved that little tank of a PDA/Case combo), graduated to a 710C which very much satisfied my itch to tinker (turned it into a 760 with RAM/ROM upgrades and sped it up and filled it up and changed the colors and.......). When I bought my NR70 a few months ago it was because I had fiddled with it 50 times in the stores. I couldn't keep my hands off it! It still sends me in much the same way the Vx did. Kind of "THIS IS COOL, THIS IS FUN!!!). So, like you guys, it will take something significant to get me away from 'Lucille"!

I think the analogy to the Vx is very legitimate. I still have one lying around the house, and it's design is classic. I remember I thought I had the pinnacle of PDA's at that time. Add a cool case, and that machine rocked. The m505 was essentially like a Vx that seemed a little more solid and had better features. Again, very cool. Now I'm on my NR70V. The point here is that each upgrade I have made has been because the newer device offers significant advances over the last. I haven't seen a significant advancement over my NR yet, and doubt I will anytime soon.

Just another one to agree NRV70 is for me the best pda out there. As many of you i rgret only the camera low res, but anyway i use it effectively on work so why change.
sad is only the sony's attitude to abndon "old" customers once a newer series is out there.
Luckily we've got Clièsource!!!!:p

I totally agree with your assessment of the NR70V. With regard to Bluetooth MS, GPS MS, etc. I would have no interest in them unless they also included at least 128mb of memory, or Sony built devices with at least two MS slots. Storage is much more important to me than any of the proposed capabilities of these MS add on devices. For example, where do you store maps if you use your MS slot for a GPS receiver? The NX had potential to be a solution to that dilema, if it's CF slot weren't so crippled.

I have to post a thumbs up for this thread. I agree, I can't imagine life without my NR70v.
I knew as soon as it was introduced I would HAVE to get one, and I promised myself I would once I got my first contract, and I did.
There is something elegant about the NR series that is lost with the bulkier NX and NZ series. It's a true work of art IMO, and it functions well too...no choice between form and function <LOL>.
If I were to improve upon the NR platform, I might add a better camera now that they've figured out how to do so. I certainly didn't buy the v model because I thought it'd be a good camera. I bought it because I thought it'd prompt me to take those impromptu pictures that really capture life.
I'd also add built in bluetooth. It'd be nice to have wifi built in too, but I really don't mind being limited to 30 feet for wireless access on a PDA. If I had to choose, it'd be bluetooth over WiFi as I'd like my Clie to communicate with wireless headsets, and gsm phones more than checking e-mail from anywhere in the house.
The last thing I'd do is remove the keyboard to make room for the BT stuff. I don't use the keyboard at all, but I love the clamshell design for protecting the screen.

Hmmm.... I'm a new "convert" to Palm. I worked on a Psion for 4.5 years - even wrote a thesis on a 5Mx. (Not as daft as it sounds. Touch-typing is far easier and faster on a half-size keyboard, and it has a fully functioning word processor. It only passed through a desktop on the way to a printer.)
Now I don't need to enter much data on the go, a Palm makes more sense... except...
The system just isn't as versatile. Where the Psion was very much a cut-down laptop, the Palm is only a very sophisticated diary.
The Clie is far more useful as I work, and I could never go back; however, the irony is that since dumping the Psion I now need to spend longer at a desktop at the end of the day - just to maintain my files.
I would change the system - but only to increase the power and versatility of the utilities.
What the Clie does, it does better; I have certainly bought a better machine. But I miss the extra functions of the Psion.
In the next generation machine, I would like to able to do more with my files. A spellchecker, for a start... (Well, either that or a secretary...)

It is the best I have had. I do not use the KB or the camera more than once every couple of months, but the screen .......
I could not go back to anything less.
I sure am happy to have bought it,

That may be how you use it but for me, it is very much a mini laptop. Combined with the Stowaway keyboard, I actually use my NR70V instead of a laptop. I use Wordsmith for my wordprocessor, QuickSheet for my spreadsheet, Snappermail to download my email on the road and Print Boy to print all this stuff out. I also use Adobe Acrobat to read files and browse the web with Blazer. When necessary, I carry Power Point files and view them in QuickPoint. And use FCPlus to do various time value of money calculations and other mathematical stuff. Finally, I use Bonsai to plan and track my projects.
(The only thing missing for me is the industry-specific software that I have to use. No one has ported it to POS yet.)

Just got my NR70V a week ago...LOVE IT so far. I started with a Palm IIIx about 4 years ago, moved to the original PEG-300 then to a T615, which I DROPPED (word of advice...DON'T DO THAT), and now up to this.
I'm in medical school, so use it mostly for scheduling/to do lists, but the MP3 player is great...put a bunch of music on a stick, listen to it while I study. The camera hasn't been so useful yet, but hey, I've got a HANDHELD WITH A CAMERA....how sweet is that?? Love HiRes+, use it with DateBk5. The speed is perfect for my uses (my first computer was 200mhz...do I really need that on a PDA?)
Only complaint...16mb??? Come on Sony, give us at LEAST 32...can't do much with 16, especially when you start adding med programs like I do.
Best part: The "oh my god, that's COOL" comments when you take it out, open it, and flip the screen around!

I love my nr70v, it's the best... I started off with a handspring visor, with the 2 meg... that was cool, then the 505 which everything thought was the best... now the nr70v, this thing is just plain good. the camera has made me into a little photographer, I love taking black and white photos of people working, plants, all sorts of stuff... the mp3 player is great, I use it at work when I'm alone and relaxing. I mostly use it for scheduling since I am a counselor and can have a very variable schedule. anyways, I was envious of nx users, but now that I think about it, I really love my nr, and I am keeping it for a long time.

I blame Sony on this one, less than a year ago they didn't even demo the prototype of the NR and today we feel we have to justify why we are still using an "obsolete" model. Because they replace models so quickly we are suddenly off the cutting edge. So what? I've had my NR for about 7 months now, and have no intentions of trading up any time soon. It meets all my needs and then some and never ceases to get a reaction the first time someone sees it. It's a classic design, durable and outclasses 95% of the other PDAs that are in use. It might not be as new as the NX or NZ but is still more PDA than 98% of Palm users need. How depressing, a PDA that's less than a year old meets all my needs and I don't feel the need to drop another $5-800 to replace it. I don't want to sound cynical but do we always feel the need to upgrade our desktop everytime a new processor comes out. If you ever forget how cool your NR is, ask a Handspring user what he thinks of it.....

It is NOT obsolete. It is what marketing people want us to believe so we put more $ on the table. They have made new models, more specs, more gizmos, ...but the NR70 was the first and still is. What the NX and even NZ have which really, really makes the NR obsolete. Technologically, yes there are more advanced, but for the user of the NR what does it change to hisdaily joy at using this wonderful machine.
I always have like to have the latest model (CD player, camera, ...) but here I did not feel any urge past the first 10 seconds,

That's why I put obsolete in quotations. I don't know if you remember before the crash but a lot of NR users were ready to jump from a ledge when the NX came out. They just spent $5-600 on a PDA and now it was obsolete. Something is obsolete when it no longer serves a purpose, that is not how I would describe my NR. I have a friend who's still using my old S300, that's not obsolete either because all he uses it for is a datebook and a reader.
I get urges to upgrade like with my car. I wouldn't mind having a new Maxima but mine still meets all my needs and for the amount of money it would take to upgrade, it's not worth it to me. I feel the same about my NR, if someone wants to give me one I'll gladly accept it but what it would cost out of pocket isn't worth it to me.

I recently bought a tungsten T. It was nice to play around on it for a while. The novelty of it has worn off tho. Still been waiting for a flippin mp3 player etc and nothing much been updated. Not many wonderful os5 progs either.
Anyway missed my NR70v so have gone back to it and I prefer it to the TT. I have been looking at the new - can't remember which one it is now- the black one- is it ZX?? Not out in the Uk tho.
Just took a peek at the sony site- its the NZ. Anyway am sticking with the NR which is far more fun to use than the TT.

I can't agree more. A couple of months after getting my NR70V I purchased a Toshiba Genio 550. At first, I put my Clie aside and used this device but despite the 4 inch screen and the handwriting recognition of the Genio I dusted off my 70V and went back to using it as my daily PDA. The lack of CF drivers (I have the sled for the NR) is quite annoying but not a showstopper.
I love my NR to death. As a long time Palm OS user (4 years!) starting off with a Palm III, then getting the AMAZING (at the time) Vx, then finally succumbing to color getting a Prism. The Prism was great, and had some killer graphics for it's time, and the VisorPhone was just cool to have; a phone in your Palm, it's just sweet. The only problem was it was a MONSTER sitting in your pocket, especially with the phone attached. My NR70V is reminding me on a daily basis how much I remember loving the compactness of my Vx, while still maintaining lots of power.
The camera is cool to have, but like most other NR/NX users, don't use it quite as much as you might think. Yeah, the resolution is small, but about the only thing I'm gonna do with pics I take is e-mail them to friends of mine for sh**s and giggles, and any bigger resolution and the pics would start eating my 128MB MS alive.
The built-in MP3 player is turning out to be more useful than I expected. I'm finding myself playing tunes in my car all the time (through my aux. input on the front of my car CD deck - very convenient) and every night at work I can use headphones and have all my music without having to carry an extra unit.
And my favorite feature of the NR70V: The screen. I went from 160x160 color to 320x480... It's so amazing. Being able to view multitudes more text on a screen is wonderful, and pictures/games/multimedia is really stunning.
I have a sony clie and my girlfriend has a palm. The sony looks so much better. I have a sony cam and I like the fact that I can use the same memory stick. Sony does a lot of things wrong but they did the NR70 to my likeing.

New convert to the NR myself and I never thought I would switch from the Palm platform. I have had a Palm since the PalmPilot Personal, which I upgraded to the Professional with a board upgrade. IIRC, that upgraded the memory from 512K to 1MB.
Then I got the Palm V, the Palm VX, and finally the m505. Had no intention of upgrading, except the SUDS problem on the 505 started driving me crazy. My friend bought a NR70V when it first came out and I thought, neat toy, but it's not for me.
It was not until I started asking him questions when I wanted to replace my 505 that I realized that this was better and more useful than any Palm I had seen, including the Tungsten.
Bought one at an unbelieveable price, and now have my 505 on eBay. Won't be looking back.
I having a hard time selling my girlfriends Plam 505. It seems that everyone I know has a Clie now. I know how much I paid for the 505 and I want to get most of my money back. Good luck on trying to sell yours braham.

Hi, I only had one PDA (Palm VX) before, which was a gift to make my business life easier. I didn't want to get ridd off my diary at that time, but now I couldn't imagine life without a PDA. And since I bought the NR 70V I am happy. What a desgin, what a display, what a speed (compared to my Palm) and I now have a personaler entertainer and a PDA in one! I agree with the camera resolution, but I mainly use it for taking pictures inside supermarkets, which is ok. :)

I also love my NR70 but tonight I took the plunge at spent the money on a NZ90 and now I guess my wife will learn to use a PDA.
I need the wireless desperatly and more camera functions and the voice recorder as well.
My administrator brought a NX a few weeks back and OS5 is definatly a leap over OS 4.?
Time to upgrade but is a few bucks-such is life!

Thanks for the wish of good luck, but it seems like it did not work. 22 minutes left in my auction, and I have $100 bid for my m505 and a ton of gear. Even though they did not reach the reserve, I think I'm gonna let it go anyway.
Damn Clie. Makes every thing else cheesy.

yep the Clie surely does make everything else look like cheese.
I have walked through computer stores on and off the NEt and thought about switching to the ipaq and windows CE but cannot do it-the Clie has the screen, functions and Palm OS which I am hooked on.
So glad I stayed and did not buy something else. This site convinced me of that for sure as well as the NR70 but now time to upgrade to the NZ90-I am sure I will love it even more. A top seller right now.

I must say, and I am sure it is no surprise, that I to just love love love my NR70:D :D And I am definately going to remember that new term I just learned in this thread, "Muskcrat Pizzle" !!! I am LOL at the mental picture. I have enjoyed reading all of the great stories, and would like to share my own. Recently, my Palm Vx (hardy little thing that served me very well for three years) lost the ability to hold a charge for more than about 90 seconds. I went to Staples to look at buying a new Palm m515. Wanted color and loved the concept of the storage sticks. While I was playing with it my eyes were somehow distracted to this sleek great looking beautiful sliver looking thing called the NX70V. I lost interest in the Palm so fast I almost dropped in on the floor! People started looking at me as I was talking to myself saying - COOL, SWEEEEET, COOL, AWSOME, SWEEET!!!! Loved every aspect of it, the design, the feel and the functionality. ANd that full screen!!!! Then reality set in when I looked at the price $600. OUCH. I put it down and ran out of the store knowing my wife would kill me if I spent that kind of money. I went home and slept on it. Truth is, I had no need for a fancy camera, and would never use the network slot, but I would have loved the vioce recorder though. Went back the next day to play with it more. Could not take my hands off of it, but still didn't want to spend $600. So I went to Sony's web-site to read the specs and talk myself into it. To my surprise, I found a section for refurbished models. I had to blink my eyes when I saw the price. I got it in a sealed box for the same price I would have paid for the Palm m515. $329!! SWEEEEEEET!!! I regretted not spending $60 more for the NR70V, but after hearing that the camera is low res, I am not feeling so bad. The NR70 actually feels more elegant without the CF slot on the back that makes the NX70 look pregnant! This is a great piece. I will never go back. I would love to have that voice recorder though. I figure when the NZ starts selling like hot cakes, SONY might have a refurb sale on the NX70V. SWEEEET.
And yes, I totally agree, I love the hinge system concept and do not have any trouble with it at all. In fact, I have had absolutely no trouble loading anything into it. Ok, maybe one problem which I quickly fixed by removing the software that made it crash.
SONY, IF YOU ARE LISTENING, MAKE A UNIT INBETWEEN THE NR70 AND NX70. PUT ALL OF THE STUFF THAT IS IN THE NX70 INCLUDING OS 5 AND VOICE RECORDER BUT NOT THE CF SLOT,(Honestly, If the thing is hooked up to my computer which is attached to the internet, what the hell do I need Bluetooth and network stuff for??) IN IT AND YOUVE GOT A REAL WINNER. YOU COULD CALL IT THE NS70. CAN I PLACE MY ORDER NOW??
Thanks for reading;
Glad to be a part of the family.

I really like my NR70v. I just feel betrayed by SONY for not creating larger memory sticks for it. I know they gave some technical jargon that it could not be done with our devices. But to be honest I don't really buy it. I looked on Motorola's site and they state that the SuperVZ can support up to a gigabyte of memory, so that exlcudes the CPU as the issue. I'm also wondering why older SONY devices can take advantage of the MS Pro when our PDAs which are less then a year old can not. Everything I had heard about the MS said it had it's own I/O, so upgrading to future MS would not be an issue. Maybe OS 4 is the problem.
If I could buy a 256 chip for my Clie' I would be a happy camper. Not that 2 sided crap they're trying to shove on us. I would like to fit an entire CD on one MS.
I hope SONY puts the DSP chip back into future Clie's.

I have ssen a lot of discussion on the MS thing!! I honestly do not see this as a big issue. WHen I bought my NR70, I went to a computer show and bought a 64mb and 128mb Memory Stick for a total of about $100. Since then I have not even begun to fill either one up. I use the 128mb to store MP3 files and the 64mb to store programs and files. I have downloaded close to about 100 applications and stored them on the stick. All in all, I have only used about 15mb of the 64mb stick and have 45mb still free. What could I possibly need with a 256mb stick?? I recently went to Costco and saw 128mb memory sticks for $59.00 You can't beat that. Coscto is a warehouse store like SAM's or BJ's. If you need more room, just buy another stick. They are small enough to store, and if you shop hard enough you will not get raked on the price. I bought a leather case for the NR70 that holds 2 memory sticks quite easily. I have to really think, If they made a 256mb stick, what could I possibly do with all that memory??
What I really want is a GPS unit that uses the MS slot!! Is there anything like that out there??

I desperately need more memory. I have a 128 stick that is filled completely. I have to get rid of programs to put new ones on. I can't even use the MP3 player because I need all the memory I can get. I need more RAM-16 not enough-and the ability to use a larger memory stick. I would love the 1gb stick. I will upgrade when Sony produces a unit as nice as the NR with added memory. I could care less about OS5 right now, because I don't think it is the industry standard yet. Too many good programs would be lost. I can deal with it if I get my more memory wish. I have decided that what I need is a PDA, not a device with everything including the kitchen sink (ie NZ90). I like the lines of the NR and I will not go bigger than it. Hopefully, if I do upgrade, I can go smaller. I am interested in the cell phone integration rumors. I don't think you can make a good cell phone and a good PDA, but I'd like to see Sony try.

Quite a list. all registered programs by the way.
A fair amount of the MS is taken up by the web clippings I download from the web each day for Handstory, pictures for Handstory, and data files for Handstory.
Then, Avantgo uses a fair amount of MS space, using Avantage to access.
Anyway, that is pretty much the list. Can't think of many of these programs that don't get utilized fairly often.

Maybe this wasn't true back in October, but now most programs have been updated to work on OS5.
BTW, the NX70V may look similar to the NR70V, but it has a ton of upgrades, both big and small. Better screen (without the shadow curtain effect), better built-in apps (the Movie Player alone is worth the upgrade), better camera w/ video, WiFi slot (ask anyone who owns the card -- it rocks!), voice recorder, better virtual graffiti support, and a ton of little ergonomic and usability upgrades. Plus, it's FAAAAAAST :D
The NR70V is still the best OS4 PDA out there, though.

Mostly, I have tons of medical programs. They have very large databases. As such, they take up a ton of memory.
As for OS5, most hacks that I use and some older med programs have not been upgraded. If I used my palm for ordinary business applications, it probably wouldn't be a problem, but I don't.
The NX may be nice, but it's the wrong PDA for me. For one, the CF card slot is completely useless for what I would use it for. I'd be better off buying a Handspring Visor with a far better CF card reader. The reason I didn't is because of the size factor. So, now you have a Sony PDA that is larger in size and has a useless card reader. Doesn't make sense to me.

I see where you're coming from now, especially on the medical apps issue. That's a definite dealbreaker.
Regarding the other stuff: If your hospital/practice has a WiFI network, I can tell you that you'll really come to appreciate that 'useless' slot, though ;)
PDAs (Palms especially) were boring until the groundbreaking NR -- I'm just glad that everyone's happy with their respective choices. Can't blame me for doing a teeny bit of advocating, though :D

I do like the idea of a wifi network, but there are allot of changes in medicine occuring now, limiting what we can do with medical info. Congress has passed HIPAA regulations (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), and will be enforcing it this coming April. I really encourage all patients to see what a problem this is going to be for doctors who want to move into the new century with technology. I am all in favor of protecting medical info, but now, even a fax machine could land a physician in jail for up to 7 years. As such, technology will dwindle in medicine and we will go back to pen and paper ONLY. Wireless networks are absolutely out of the question. I have always loved the idea, but not enough to spend 7 years in jail.

128 meg stick is not enough to hold some of my CDs. I would also like to have a larger stick for storing multiple CDs.
The shadow on my NR doesn't bother me, I don't see it because of a background image in Yishow. I've heard multiple people say that the NX screen is just slightly better. If I ever buy another SONY it will be the one equipped with the newer 18-bit screen.
The camera was more of a tinkering gadget, so upgrading to a slightly better camera doesn't appeal to me. Nor does the NZ camera.
The only thing good about the CF slot on an NX, is that it provides amplification for the built-in speaker.
I don't use voice-recording. I have this on my PPC and It's just a button on the side.
The VG support on my NR is fine. I'm quite happy with my VG art.

But I'm not happy with the MS sittuation and an NX would solve that issue.
I think I'll wait until the begining of next year before considering a new Clie'. By then at least one more clamshell device besides the NZ90 should be available. And hopefully other NON-SONY PALMs will have more appeal. The big bonus on holding off will be more main memory and a much faster XScale with a 200 MHz FSB.

The NR70V gives me all the memory I need. I have two 128MB`s and a 64 MB. I got them at Tigerdirect 64 $24.99 and the 128MB for $59.99 after rebate, can not beat that. I will stay with the NR70V.

Memory stick, the 128MB is $39.99 after 20 dollar rebate. Sorry about that. Not bad prices from what I have seen around. You may to better but look around the net. With all this memory the NR70V will be a great PDA for a long time.

The NR70 (without a camera is a great PDA.)
I care about my photographs too much *not* to have a real camera. (The cameras on the NR/NX and on the recent crop of cellphones seem too junky.) It would be nice however to have a little USB link from camera to PDA. It will never happen, but that would be nice thing.

I agree and don't plan on upgrading, but if they ever came out with an NX with 32 megs and integrated wi-fi, forget this card crap, and enhanced battery, I might make that jump, if it's at a comparable price to a similar PPC. I still think the high end units are over-priced. But if people keep buying them, why would they discount them....
