There have been several threads dealing with cases for the NX series. I purchased a Sena case several months back, and after a few months, it degraded quite badly with lots of "chipping" and "fraying" around the edges, and the "male" side of the UltraClip that is affixed to the leather has come loose so that it "turns" making removal from the "female" side very difficult and frustrating.

A couple of days ago, I seem to have lost the belt-clip part, so I'll have to purchasea a replacement. Further, I need to decide if I want to send the case back to SenaCases.com for replacement or simply purchase a decent replacement from another vendor.

Note: To SenaCases.com's credit, they DID graciously offer to replace the case--I just haven't gotten around to doing it--so this is NOT intended to slam SenaCases.com in any way as they said that they stand behind their products.

So, I would like som eocomments from anyone who has owned any kind of XN-series case from any vendor for more than just a couple months.

1. What case did you purchase

2. How long ago did you purchase it?

3. How much did it cost?

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?

5. Would you recommend this case?

6. Any other comments?

Thanks!

I'll start off...

1. What case did you purchase
Sena NX case

2. How long ago did you purchase it?

3. How much did it cost?
About $40-$45

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
Bad "chipping" and fraying on sides, UltraClip became loose.

5. Would you recommend this case?
Not this one, but the company says they have resolved the "chipping" problem.

6. Any other comments?
SenaCases.com's customer service was very responsive and they offered to replace the case.

1. What case did you purchase
I purchased a black Covertec case for my NX

2. How long ago did you purchase it?
On May 15th so I've had it for over 2 months now.

3. How much did it cost?
$42US through an Ebay auction

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
It has so far held up wonderfully. The leather has started to get that nice aged look and the case is still holding up wonderfully. I use it everytime I take my Clie outside of the house and keep it in my pocket with my keys. No wear and tear or anything!

5. Would you recommend this case?
I would highly recommend this case. I haven't seen a case hold up this nicely since my Vaja case for my original visor. Great quality and craftsmenship.

6. Any other comments?
Only thing I don't like about the case is the fact that there is no cut-out for the CF slot, not a biggie though since I don't have a Wi-Fi card (yet). Also you can't sync with it in the case...again no biggie.

Great, solid stitching and construction. The leather has stretched as would be expected, but still protects my NX!! Woohoo!

1. What case did you purchase
vaja ivolution

2. How long ago did you purchase it?
january

3. How much did it cost?
$150

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
incredibly well. I have beat it to death but it is still in excellent condition. it shows only very minor wear in a few areas but unnoticable unless you look closely. If I ever took a chance to clean it up, I bet it would look pratically brand new.

5. Would you recommend this case?
without a doubt.

6. Any other comments?
$150 may be a lot for a case but it is definitelyy worth it. The last case you will ever need. I don't have a single scratch or mark on my clie.

1. What case did you purchase
Bellagio Slipper Black Magnetic Snap With Belt Clip

2. How long ago did you purchase it?
About 6 months

3. How much did it cost?
$39.99

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
Great.

5. Would you recommend this case?
Yep.

6. Any other comments?
Just a minor complaint about how the edges seem to be a little out of protection. I dropped my clie once when getting out of my car and it got a scratch in the lower right part. Nothing serious, but I guess it should have been protected by the case.

1. What case did you purchase
RipOff

2. How long ago did you purchase it?
October 2002

3. How much did it cost?
$28

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
Very well, and it gets used every day multiple times. I am constantly in and out of my office and I always slip the NX into it. It has also protected it outside and playing with kids.

5. Would you recommend this case?
Yes, if you want function but don't care about looks.

6. Any other comments?
The clip is AWESOME. It is a VERY secure clip and I trust it completely. The velcrow is just starting to get the worn look to it, but it is still holding very strong.

4. After several months of use, how has it held up?
its still the same, but doesn't smell leather if its 1 meter away anymore and doesnt shine anymore
5. Would you recommend this case?
No, its expensive and it didn't fit my PDA, so a store made adjustments for me
6. Any other comments?
Its a real LV, but i didn't paid much for it because its a stolen one. I did know it was a stolen one but LV wasnt famous at all in the netherlands, so i just bought it. It appeared to be a very expensive brand but hey, i know i have quality now and paid a low price...

Approx. 3+ months

3. How much did it cost?
$39.99

Beautiful! This case has been used every single day since it arrived.

1. What case did you purchase
Covertec

2. How long ago did you purchase it?

3. How much did it cost?
About $40

Fine except it came with the holes mis aligned for speaker and reset button. And a credit card in the flap has worn down the finish of my NX - due to constant touching when closed.

5. Would you recommend this case?
It is ok.

6. Any other comments?
I haven't bothered to email Covertec about the problems.
