I've read some threads about ppl's opinions on the best apps, and Datebk5 seems to be #1. Is it better than Agendus? I want a really good, but still very simple planner/organizer/whatever. What are the pluses/minuses? Can i set it up on the desktop then sync at hotsync?

Datebk5 I think has more features, but these are features that I can live without. It's a more complex program, and I just got tired of trying to figure it out. Agendus is a nice and clean, simple to use program that works perfect for my needs.

I agree. I test drove both, and found I was up and running quicker with Agendus. It has all the features the average user needs, IMHO. It also uses the existing datebook and ToDo apps' databases.

I use a sony program from my NR60 days called ROM Hide. It is accessed from the prefs screen, and allows you to hide any of the ROM-based programs, such as datebook and ToDo.

I use DateBk5 exclusively and love it! From what I understand, if your needs are more contact oriented, Agendus is the way to go. If, as I am, your needs are more appointment oriented, then DateBk5 is tops.
Of course in my mind, DateBk5 is the best. This aside, the company that puts out Agendus is well known for sleazy marketing and I would not purchase anything they offer.
If you're interested, do a search here for some threads on this.
Try em both and see which one suits you.
Let us know.:p

OK, i've decided to use DateBK5, it seems really good and it's starting to get interesting...but is there any good desktop conversion software? I hate palm desktop, i'm looking at Iambic for Windows 1.04, it seems good, can i use that and DateBK5?

Agendus for Windows is an add on to Palm Desktop if I recall correctly. Datebk5 and that program can be used together but since both store advanced features differently, you wouldn't see the icon or other special features used in Datebk5 with Agendus for Windows and vice versa. However, since both use the standard Datebook file, then both will be able to see each others appointments.

I'd say test both, but I've been a datebk user since 3 and for me there is no substitute. It's been datebk5 and avantgo that have kept me a faithful palm user!
