View Full Version : Memory Sticks and Default Launchers

On my N760C, every time I inserted a memory stick while the Clie was on, it went back to the default launcher instead of ZLauncher or LauncherX. (It also crashed in MemoryMgr.c, which helped me decide to get a new Clie...)

I was hoping that OS5 would have better default behavior, but my NX80V still goes back to the Clie launcher. If I tell the Clie launcher to show "standard" view, it goes back there instead.

Ideally, I'd like absolutely nothing to happen when I insert a memory stick. If I can't have that, I'd at least like it to go to my default launcher instead of the system standard launcher.

Is there any way to get this to happen? I looked around for "auto-run" settings, but can't find them in OS5, and they didn't seem to matter much for OS4 anyway.

I thought they fixed that problem in the 3rd party launchers. Try getting the latest versions...

Nope, it still happens with the brand-new ZLauncher 3.50..

I've had that happen once in a while, but usually when inserting the Memory Stick, ZLauncher stays on.

Yes, when ZLauncher is active, it stays on, but if I'm in another app, the default launcher appears.

There was a hack for this in OS4 called LaunchThis. I had it on my NR, but I assumed it was not OS5-compatible, but I just looked it up to double-check, and it says it is. I'm doing a backup right now, and will volunteer to be the guinea pig for this. Good news also is, it's freeware. I will report back.

Well it's working as advertised so far. I forgot, it's actually a standalone app, not a hack, so you don't need Tealmaster. No flames shooting out of my Clie yet, it seems really stable. Thanks for asking this question Jay, I never would have bothered to check if this works. I don't switch cards that often, but when I do it drives me crazy (I prefer to forget the existence of the default launcher;) )

Nope, never have that problem! ! !

Do you have ZLauncher set as the default launcher???

It's in ZL's preferences.

My Clie ALWAYS goes back to ZLauncher, unless I did a reset, which then it goes into preferences.
