Hi All!

I presently use a T615, and want to upgrade. I much prefer the T series form factor, but Sony Style here in SF tells me it's not to be. I like Sony and am addicted to the Jog Dial, which Leaves out Palm. I mostly read books and reference materials and write a lot using Graffiti.
The battery in the T615, never a high point, is slowly charging less, so now if I travel at all I take my portable charger with me. Sometimes I even run out of battery juice in one day, maybe about 3 1/2 hours of use.
So I'm now looking for a replacement, and I would like to know what the battery life is in the NX80, which is where I will go if I stay with Sony.
Thanks!

About 50% more!

14 days verses 10 days with the older NX's.

I guess I should have had two more questions. At what brightness level and how long would that be in hours?

Well I assume that would be with 25 percent level. Honestly, it shouldnt be that big of a deal. It will last a while.

I thought that the battery level was always figured by Sony to be 30 minutes a day with the back light turned off.

6 to 7 hours battery life at 50% brightness, which is brighter than the T615 at maximum.

Sony claims 14 days with 30 minutes of usage a day.

the screen is very bright compare with nx70 .. the battery is way longer than nx70 ..

i used it heavy today from 100% with games, taking pictures, taking movies, etc .. from 11 AM to 10 PM .. the battery sit at 50% now ..

the screen set at 0% .. which is very similar to nx70 at 40%-50% setting screen ..

one thing tho .. it was hardly to see when i use it outdoor at 0 level of screen setting ..

Sony says," 14 days based on 30 min use per day with the backlight off" and probably no MS or CF card inserted. They take away battery life as well. Also if your overclocking your guess is as good as mine as to how long it'll last.

I was in the same boat as you.

I upggraded to the NX80 from a T615.

You will notice a huuuuuuuge improvement in battery life over the T615!

I had to charge every 2-3 days with light use.

Now with heavy use (MP3 listening) I charge every 4 days or so.

I am using the default backlight which is about 50%. At 50%, it is alot brighter than the T615.

And the color, haha. Put the T615 side by side, it's laughable.

I do miss the smaller size and weight of the T615, though. No more carrying my clie in my pocket. I have stepped up to the belt clipped Man Pouch!

I used mine pretty heavy today with games and input. I use full backlight, at the end of tonight it was at 84%....damn good! IMHO, I fit mine in my pocket just fine. The NX80 is as big as a small PDA inside a leather case. I wear suits every day and keep it in the right inside pocket when I wear my jacket.....fits very comfortably. When I wear it in my shirt pocket, it fits, but it is a bit heavy, but in my pants pockets, it is fine. No need for a case, as it acts as its own case when in clamshell closed mode.

It is good, even using WiFi, the LCD is still too bright and saturated.

I get a lot of run out of mine. I played games (NES emulator) and took pictures, both with and without the capture light (about 60 pics taken) yesterday, and it was down to just 73% very impressive, imho. Certanly better then my old NR70v was.
