Memory stick problems again!

I need help again, I thought I had things all worked out but - no, on the contrary! I just inserted a NEW memory stick, it is the correct one, and when I go to Sonic Stage I get the message devise is full ! I have unplugged the usb, and re inserted it to no avail. Also, recently, I was on help line with Sony and they had me uninstall usb items then re-intall. I need to know what to look for in device manager, perhaps it isnt even there! The Clie does in fact connect to the PC but I just cant get the music to go to the Clie. I get the message " device is full, cannot access device" This happens after I actually see that the memory stick is in fact recognied on the Sonic stage screen! ALso, the last time I had this problem I found out that if you go to Menu, options, be sure all itesm have a plus sign, one did not and that was my problem. But now, I cannot get the minuis sign to revert back to a plus! Can anyone help???

I would first check and make sure the memory stick is formatted.

Also, SonicStage is not very good software (I made my opinion of it and Magic Gate technology known in an earlier posting on another memory stick thread!). If you continue to have problems with this, I would suggest that you learn how to encode your CD's to MP3 files, and copy the MP3's to the memory stick directly. It is a lot easier, sounds better, and you don't have to use Sonic Stage any more!

Thanks, I will try to format the stick, but, it was never used! Also, how do you encode a CD to MP3 format?

Many of us use a 3rd party application to create MP3 music type files for our Clies. Sonic Stage is a real bear to use with Sony' copy right protection scheme. Too much trouble and problems!

I personally use Music Match to make my MP3's, but there are other apps that can do the same, some even are free. There is even a plugin for Windows Media Player 9, but it's not free.

You shouldn't have to format the memory stick.

I don't know enough about creating music with Sonic Stage as I never use it, as it was too much of a hassle.

It's hard to assist you, because you appear to be unfamiliar with terms and file management techniques. When I tried to help in the past and when I asked pointed questions so I could help you, for the most part, my questions went unanswered.

I would start by downloading a copy of CDex. It is good software to convert a CD to MP3 files, and it is freeware. It can also be used to convert windows .WAV files to MP3 as well, it works very well, is pretty easy to use, and it's Free!!
