Anyone know if you can purchase an NX73v at Best Buy, fry's or any other bricks and mortor store?

I can't seem to find them, and I'd really like to check it out in the flesh before I plop down my plastic.

Thanks!

Circuit City should have them, haven't come across them in person anywhere else, except J&R and Datavision, which won't help you if you're not in the New York metro area.

Thanks!
I did try one Fry's store (I'm in the L.A. area) and the guy told me Fry's no longer carried ANY Sony PDA's!

After calling Best Buy (didn't have this model), Circuit City and several other stores, I decided to try another Fry's store.

They said they DO have 'em in stock, so apparantly, the first salesman didn't know what he's talking about (no way one Fry's store would stop selling ANY Sony PDA's, while at least two others have them in stock)

Does the NX73 have an illuminated keyboard?

Thanks for your assistance!

(How do you like your NX73, assuming you have one?)

Get the NX80, I think you would be happier with it.

Don't get the NX80, it's a waste of $100. And the black looks nicer.

Besides the higher res camera, which I really don't need (I have a Sony F717, which I use all the time) what does the NX 80 offer?

Is there any added benefit besides the hi res and additional ram?

Thanks!

I have the NX80 and love it. The only differences are the color, the better camera, and the NX80 has 16MB of dynamic RAM which can't be used for storing apps, but helps with opening large files and web pages. If those things are not so important for you, then I can see why the NX73 might be just as good. If I wanted an NX73, I'd get the European one (though that would defeat the purpose of saving money, and wouldn't help if you have no use for bluetooth).

Yes, the F717 is a very nice camera indeed! The other item that some have reported is the keyboard is not as nice as on the NX80. The most serious part is the 11MB of available RAM. That concerns me the most. The TG50 was originally flashable, and now it isn't. Yes, I know Brayder has said they are working on it. It took them months for the NX60/70 and NZ90. Those models don't have the all in one chip the the NX73/80 have. I worry that it won't be flashable and that 11MB of RAM these days, in my opinion, is insufficient.

Of course the decision is yours to make. You would still have to pay extra for JackFlash if it does work.

Good luck with whatever you decide :)!

I chose the nx73 for two reasons:

(1) I really like the black casing over the silver;
(2) I wanted to exaggerate the distinction between my PDA pics and my Digicam pics. I was afraid that if my PDA took decent photos then I would get lazy and not use my digicam that much.

I am very happy with my decision. The photos are good enough for on the fly stuff but I know I need my digicam if I want anything decent.
